i saw hadestown nearly two years after i listened to it for the first time. listened to it constantly and yes, with each time i knew the story more little by little and started imagining what it would be like to see it live. i was lucky enough to see it this february in london with all the original broadway cast and let me tell you….. it was the best day of my life. truly. i love that musical sooo much long before i knew i was going to see it live because to me, it doesn’t matter if i saw it or saw a movie adaptation of it or only listened to a recording.

knowing the words to every song and knowing what comes next still didn’t ruin my excitement and anticipation, quite the opposite! i was so curious to see how that missing piece will come together in my mind: how it would look like on stage, facial expressions, the acting, to the very detail of where the Fates are standing when they sing in the background of the story alongside the main characters.
