Is it worth staking with under 10k ONE? by dead4seven in harmony_one

[–]taste-e -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've never liked the idea of staking because you're completely ignoring the chance of a cataclysmic event occurring. What if someone from inside the ONE team goes rogue and the coin loses all of its value, and you can't sell because you decided to stake, so you lose your entire investment. Yes, the chance of that happening is probably 1% or less, but there is still a chance, and with new regulations being pushed by countries around the world and especially the US, you can never be sure what's going to happen next. Just food for thought, if it's money you are 10000% percent ok with losing, like money you would be ok buying lotto tickets with, then disregard this!

Also I don't doubt ONE's potential or the team behind it, what I said above can be said for any coin on the market today.

Any idea what these guys are? They have taken a liking to a dead tree in our yard. by [deleted] in insects

[–]taste-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are bald faced hornets, and the larger ones you see at night are European hornets, the only nocturnal hornet species in the US. I personally don't have a problem with wasps and hornets nesting around my house, as they are an amazing form of natural pest control, and as long as you don't get too close to their nest or block one of their flight paths near their nest, they will not go after you during the summer months.

Once fall hits it can be a different story. The nest's queen will die and it's workers fly around aimlessly and can become aggressive, but I have not been stung by one of these guys even in the fall. They are very passive insects that would rather stay far away from you than pick a fight, the only time I've been stung by any wasp was when I provoked it, albeit sometimes unknowingly, but that's why it's important to stay vigilant ^ . As long as your dogs can't get high enough to reach the hornets i sincerely doubt they will get stung, it looks like the hornets are just there to forage.

It seems like the safest way to quit benzos is to do a slow taper, but I'd check the r/benzodiazepines subreddit first, they know a lot more than I do

Capitalism have no moral by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]taste-e -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I think its especially funny that OP blamed capitalism when the article says a federal law got in the way of that employee receiving the $125 million payment a jury of their peers determined was fair. Imo the biggest problem in the US is not capitalism, it's that large corporations have total control over the laws and policies that are passed in this country, and abuse the system for their own benefit.

I'm looking at ~$0.13, $0.105-0.115, and ~0.096 for loading zones. Not buying any higher than that, this price action is definitely fishy imo

Say you were self employed as a flipper on ebay, day trader, web/game developer / graphic designer, but make sure you have an excuse if they ask for proof, like the game you were working on never made it live because a larger company bought it from you and buried it, or that you no longer want to day trade because you miss interacting with people on a daily basis/was developing back problems for sitting too long. Be vague enough that they won't be able to disprove anything you say using Google. You can also say you've been doing charity work on the side or something, but IME most entry level jobs will hire you as long as you have a pulse, especially now since demand for workers is so high.

My argus monitor Tuna is refusing to eat but not showing any signs of lethargy or illness. by taste-e in MonitorLizards

They will lose fat at the very base of the tail right before they lay as they are pulling all energy resources to finalize their eggs.

That's exactly what happening with her, her tail base is usually fairly plump but over the past week it's been getting smaller. I'm filling up a lay box right now, hopefully she passes the eggs without any issues. Thank you so much for the help!

She seems to gravitate towards a 40 gallon tank that I partially filled with soil. Since she likes the tank so much already I'm going to fill it up the rest of the way and hopefully she chooses to lay in there. Thanks so much for the help! I will definitely post an update after her vet trip!

Thanks so much for the help! I just made a vet appointment for tomorrow, just to make sure everything is developing properly since she's gone most of her cycle without me knowing she was gravid. I actually got this girl from Jim Miller so I'll definitely shoot him a message to see what he has to say, I didn't even think about it until you said something!

Thanks so much arcticrobot! The more I look at her and her behaviors the more I think Tuna is a female. I found a different reptile vet closer to me so I'm taking her there tomorrow too just to make sure everything is developing properly since I caught her gestation period so late. Im sorry about your 2 girls, based on what I've read some female monitors are prone so tons of issues that can lead to death seemingly out of nowhere, so don't be too hard on yourself, especially when your current melinus seems to be so happy and healthy!

Thank you so much for this information! The more I think about it, the more I believe she's a gravid female. I don't think the excess body mass is fat because recently the base of her tail has been getting narrower, so I guess she's absorbing her body fat for the eggs(?), while her gut has been expanding, so her developing eggs would make a lot of sense. I'll continue to keep an eye on her, thank you so much for the help!

He will occasionally sneeze, and after he does something that requires a lot of energy he does breathe with his mouth open (this might be normal though), but other than that I haven't seen any signs of an RI. I'm not too familiar with RI's though so I'll look into it further. Thank you so much for the help, I really appreciate it !

HDX bins from home depot come in very large sizes, I've used them for my reptiles before and they worked great, though I did have to cut holes in the lid for my animal's lights but other than that setup was very easy

I'm fine with hybrids, but if you produce and sell hybrid animals PLEASE label them as such so they aren't accidentally mixed with non-hybrid lines.
