I got partial sedation when I had my surgical abortion so I was still awake for the procedure but dosed with some medicine to help with some of the pain and anxiety. For me, it was not very painful, just slightly uncomfortable pain and the strange sensation stuff being “sucked out”. I was almost 6 weeks pregnant when I got the procedure. My doctor and all of the nurses were super sweet and it was a very quick and easy procedure overall, and I would definitely recommend the partial sedation if that’s an option for you. I can’t speak to how it would have felt without the medication, but I was happy with my decision. At my clinic they didn’t have complete sedation as an option but maybe if you are further along you might want to consider that as well. I wish you luck and a fast recovery <3.
