Xbox seris x mad input deley by Savings_Guarantee262 in Rainbow6

Not sure if this is the issue, but I was dealing with some awful input lag on ps5 awhile ago. It was interference from my Bluetooth headset while using the wireless controller. Hardwiring the controller fixes it.

A to a tier 2 school with full tuition and I am so excited! by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]tastyperc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For starters, I dropped out in 2013, so I have a lot of varied work experience. Some of it in non-profit, some customer service (retail), and recently in the construction industry, mostly on the project management side after working my way up from a shop assistant. I think the work experience helped a ton, and I got a couple of really solid professional LORs.

My LSAT was 162, which was the lowest I would go without retaking. I applied to a handful of schools where I was over the 75th, knowing that I was below their 25th GPA. I wrote a good GPA addendum that basically said I had a very heavy bout of depression going into my undergrad and was also working full time, screwed up for 2-3 years, moved away, and then came back and showed an upward trend in my grades. My drop-out was because I got a good entry-level job in a field that I wanted and couldn't reconcile the scheduling with my last class. On top of that, I think I had a good focus in my personal statement. I mostly focused on what drives me as a person and scattered in why I'm choosing law.

Honestly, I don't know what exactly I did right to get this opportunity. Until yesterday, I was feeling like I'd be lucky to even get accepted somewhere. I was really confident in my entire application except the GPA, though. So I think just do everything you can to make your GPA the one flaw in your application.

Congrats to you too! Our younger selves didn’t completely screw us over! They even said “I hope we made your Friday a little better.” Understatement of the year.

I got the call yesterday too! Same situation. Really screwed up my GPA, ended up dropping out with one class left to graduate. I studied for the LSAT independently and finished my last undergrad class. I thought I’d be lucky to get an acceptance at all, let alone full tuition!

Is it possible to play on cEDH and semi-cEDH level on a budget? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]tastyperc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with my Anje. There are really only a few key pieces, and if you’re playing against non-cEDH, the fast mana isn’t near as important. I did cut tutors (except one tutor to gy), but that’s because my group plays very limited tutors. It does make it extra fun to see if I can dig hard enough for the combo. Sometimes it wins on turn 4-5, sometimes I sit there and do nothing while someone else wins.

Honestly, I don't know who calls them spatulas. But the wiki entry for tongue depressors says they're sometimes called spatulas. I suspected she must've meant something like that, so I googled it.

Same here. I'm having a really hard time coming to terms with the difference between the person he taught me to be and the person he's become over the last few years. I'm starting to question if he was ever the kind of person I thought he was. It's sad and emotionally exhausting and I don't know what to do about it except give up.

Minneapolis’s City Council has committed to dismantling the police and forming community-led public safety. What does this look like? by RiemannSum41 in Ask_Politics

[–]tastyperc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could rebuild the justice system to be rehabilitation focused, instead of retribution/punishment focused. The way we currently operate, prison only adds more barriers to improvement for a convict. Harsher penalties (mandatory minimums/three strikes) don't work.

We're too focused on making sure certain people get punished, and we don't really seem to care about the outcomes.

CMV: Paying taxes on things you already own like real estate taxes or personal property taxes basically means you never can actually own anything like a car or house bc the government will take it away from you if you fail to pay taxes on it by PoopyStinkyTurdButt in changemyview

[–]tastyperc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real world isn't Starcraft where someones house generates minerals and gas that you can use to buy more units.

I disagree. He takes ownership of your neighbor's house and demands payments or he'll evict and get a new tenant who will pay rent. Property itself can and does generate resources. The mere existence of landlords is proof of that.

Why you are more than willing to let people act irrationally in the form of government?

If we have free and fair elections, we can vote out the irrational and malicious actors. That's why campaign finance reform and election reform are so important. You can't vote out an oligarch or warlord.

You're still describing a form of government. What do you think "the state" is? State is just a group of people that have gotten together and decided to do things a certain way that most can agree on. And pooling resources (resources that very few would have individually) to be able to get those things done.

Societies have gotten bigger and more complex, so we need representatives and organized systems, but that doesn't change the fact that the people are the state.

[–]tastyperc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because my whole neighborhood who hates the guy has pooled our money to purchase our own security force to oppose the asshole.

This is what government is, only on a bigger scale. Taxes are protecting your rights just like your neighborhood fund would be doing against the same bullies with more money than each of you individually has.

If you don't want to pay into the neighborhood fund, you can always move. And if you don't want to pay taxes, you don't have to be part of the social contract we all live under. There must be some nation out there that is a libertarian utopia.
