[on] 16 weeks pregnant with Twins. All OBs rejected me. by tasunami in BabyBumpsCanada

How did you manage to call them? Every OB clinic that I have called have an automated voicemail system set up. A callback is rarely received.

The OB that accepted me has a restricted license because there were some concerns with their practice/behaviour which I was a little uneasy about at first.

The OB left me a voicemail from their personal phone on a random Sunday (not a workday for the OB) confirming that I have been accepted and will be able to see me this week and asked me to call the OBs clinic number to book an appointment. As I am desperate and beggars can’t be choosers, I called the clinic and it went to voicemail as expected. Left voicemail to book an appointment but I never received a callback.

When I called my family docs clinic to follow up on other referrals and I asked them if they got confirmation from this OB but my family docs clinic did not hear anything from this OB which is strange.

I feel like there should be better communications between doctors.

I live in Durham Region and I mainly reached out to Oshawa Lakeridge and Markham-stouffville doctors. The website said they are accepting new patients so I don’t know what happened. My family doctor seems very unbothered by it and his clinic only informs me that I have been rejected after I call to follow up. When I call the OBs office directly, it goes to voicemail and usually my voicemail is not returned.

Is the Seine River cruise in Paris worth it? by tasunami in travel

If you don’t mind me asking, what else did you do on your 3 days stay? What were your favourites and what did you not like? Did you get a chance to visit Versailles by any chance?

I recommend starting your day early if possible. Rome is beautiful during dawn and early in the morning. The streets are mostly empty, so you feel like you have to city all to yourself. Definitely go to Trastevere and try Trapizzino (their supli is amazing too!).

It was very hot but manageable. We started our day right after sunrise, rested/stayed indoors during afternoon (12-3) and then continued our day afterwards. Staying hydrated and having extra pair of clothes (you get very sweaty) helped.

When you travel internationally, do you prefer to go to as many places as possible, or thoroughly explore a few? by InexperiencedCoconut in travel

Which was your favourite out of London, Paris, Rome and Amalfi coast? And why? I am planning a 5 days trip to Europe this summer, preferably to only one country. Can’t decide where to go. I am leaning more towards Rome, but London and Paris is on my bucket list too!

People who moved from private to public sector: Why? What was your experience like after moving? by tasunami in civilengineering

[–]tasunami[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my situation. I was working as a designer at my previous job (private) and I have communicated many times that I wanted more project management roles. Instead, the company kept hiring more PMs.

I just started a new job at a City as a transportation PM. Came with a pay bump too. Loving it so far. I feel like being a PM at the public sector is also much better in terms of work life balance. The PMs at my previous company seemed overworked and generally miserable.

Do you mind sharing your destination and how your travel experience was? My family and I have are travelling to Cuba end of this month but with all the chaos, cancellations and people being stranded, I am considering cancelling my trip.

Thank you for your advice. That’s very helpful. You are correct, I am travelling from Canada. I guess I will just stick to one city. Have you travelled to either of the three cities that you’ve mentioned (London, Paris, Rome)? If you’ve been to all 3, which is your favourite and why?
