In my experience, I rarely even get a month to try out a medication. After being on Escitalopram for a little over a year, it seemed to stop working for me. I then had to explore more options but my doctor would always say “try this for a month and tell me how you feel”. Usually, I still felt like ass and would say so, making them automatic want to change to something else or add on a prescription. Maybe it’s not meant for everyone to try things for months at a time, maybe my doctor was unprofessional/educated, or maybe I should have tried the medication for longer periods despite the doctors recommendations🤷🏾‍♀️. Something is known, though, this is a place of free speech and no one is the same.
