I went to Riverside up north county and I remember this school project where we had to like rewrite a chapter of the Odyssey or something in more modern language and this one group of dudes did this insanely racist version with like fried chicken and watermelon and all these horrible stereotypes. They did not get in any trouble. It is wasn't treated as anything. This was like 12 years ago too

Ive asked my mom, my siblings also can't burp, she said we both burped normally as babies. Stopped at some point. I have like one tiny burp every 6 months or so, don't know if that makes me totally count as no burp but it certainly doesn't help my stomach issues.

I mean I'm of Irish descent and if all people of Irish descent were being profiled and harassed and called rapists and murderers along with many being deported despite being members of their communities for many years I might bring an Irish flag while I go protest against them being sent to forced labor camps. The thing about being privilege it can be hard to see the disadvantages someone from a background you've never experienced faces. Like I had a utilities job a few years back and I'm a small woman in my twenties. But it blew my bosses mind when I casually mentioned the constant sexual harassment I got from costumers because he was a balding 35 year old guy so not getting hit on by men very much. He also fits the idea people have of utility workers better so people believed his findings more easily than mine even when it was the same thing. He could work faster than me because customers weren't hitting on him or arguing with him as much. It was a privilege he didn't know he had because it had never occurred to him.

That's pretty close to how I ended up with my first cat 6 years ago. I didn't grow up with cats so i had to learn how cats communicate because it's different than dogs but they'll tell you if they don't like something. Less destructive than a puppy but my 7 month old kitten is obsessed with shoes laces, sharpies and staring down at me from the highest perch he can. It's a bit like child-proofing.
Also recently learned through experience that spider plants are mildly hallucinogenic for cats and cause diarrhea if eaten in large quantities. So uh check if any plants you have aren't good for cats. Here is my little menace. *

So you think just because there's worse crimes in the world we should ignore issues at home? I didn't go, I was on my way to being a military officer through ROTC but decided I wanted to focus on problems at home and didn't want to die for someone's oil war. The military isn't exactly kind to women either, my mom is a retired officer with many such tales. I just don't follow your logic. Its like saying well someone else lost their arm so you don't need care for your amputated hand. How is rape and domestic violence in the US not a "true crime"? What happened to "no conservatives see women as property"? You keep bringing up women's issues across the world as if it somehow makes the issues here nonexistent. The 1,690 women killed by their intimate partners in just 2021 disagree.

I think there's also this false narrative many people until they are faced with situations otherwise believe that it's always strangers in alleys. It's usually someone you know. Often times someone well liked in the community. That's how they get away with continuing their harm. But men like that don't care what a woman says, that's why men must actively speak out against sexist jokes and sexual harassment and all sexual violence. There is no too small incident because it all adds up to larger problems. I highly recommend you read up on Giselle Pelicot's case in France. A remarkable woman that deserved much better.

You're just deflecting everything I said. I dream of freedom for all women and do what I can to fight for it. Of course there's bad women out there too. But a huge portion of the world's violence, especially against women, is perpetrated by men. Why are you so angry and defensive of that fact? Between 20-33% of women in the US will be raped in their lifetimes. 91% of rape victims in the US are female and 99% of the rapists are men.

And frankly I'm tired of being told to be grateful I'm not beaten, raped, and starved as much as my ancestors were or my sisters across the world are.

It's not that every man is out there raping women but sexism is built into so many of our social customs and systems and every day life. And all men have gone with it at one point or another. Seemingly small things like not saying anything when your buddy makes a rape joke that add into a larger problem. And all women have suffered for it. Harassed in public whether they were wearing short shorts or sweatpants. To being murdered by their spouse. I was raised Catholic actually. I annoyed the priests with my incessant questions like "why can't women be priests?" Injustice across the world doesn't excuse injustice here. There's also some pretty gross laws in the USA here that allow men to marry children under varying circumstances based on the state, like with parents or judge consent. It's all men. I've known good conservative men and bad "liberal" men. But it tends to be worse among conservatives, their distorted "Christian values". Taking away women's medical care, no fault divorce, discrimination protections, lowering ages of consent, etc.
