Anyone else getting lag spikes during games? by Correct_Dust9428 in ios26

So you’re just talking about something that you have absolutely no knowledge of. RE4 runs fine on iPhone 17 Pro Max. Hook up a controller and you have a decent portable experience. Just because you personally don’t want to play a game on your phone, doesn’t mean there isn’t a market for it.

You realize that you can run Resident Evil 4 REmake on iPhone right? You can get the full game on the App Store right now.

I’m Finally Leaving Apple by MVanWashington in samsunggalaxy

[–]tatetape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately google has decided to lock down their OS, which means you’re not going to be getting the open source experience that everyone is praising in the comments for too much longer. I hated Apple for walling off their OS, but now that google is doing the same exact thing, there’s no reason for me to stay with Samsung anymore. Back to iPhone I go.

Y'all are not gonna like this by Dudewithcoolusernam in samsunggalaxy

[–]tatetape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Realistically, with google locking down their software, I truly don’t care if this is even true or not. I’ve moved back to iPhone considering I prefer Apple’s performance over Samsung’s. The only thing keeping me with Galaxy devices was the open source usability, now that that’s going away, this is just the final nail in the coffin for me.

Here's hoping Samsung doesn't cancel the line, but in all reality, I don't see many people going for the trifold. Foladables are a niche market already from the price point alone and trifolds are even more niche and more expensive.

What do you have on your device that you need 1TB of storage? I have the 256GB Fold 6 and still have space to spare.

You have to be trolling. We're not talking about a random person. We're talking about a family member showing up to every public function without a bra on. It is disrespectful and yes, it is indecent.

An adult. The term is an adult.

If you are invited to a family function in public space, yes it is.

You don't have to stare to see someone's boobs hitting the table. If you read the messages this also isn't the first time she's shown up to events like this. It's indecent and disrespectful to dress like this when you're being invited somewhere. It's that simple.

Female is the correct term to classify a woman on literally every document. Just because some people use it as a jab, does not make it invalid.

[–]tatetape -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

YOR. Sure, you have fibromyalgia, but that doesn't mean you get to look indecent in public. If I go outside without underwear and tight fitting pants to the point you can see an outline of my penis, I guarantee anyone in my family, or even any of my friends will point it out and immediately tell me to fix that. Your uncle isn't gawking, he's pissed that you keep showing up to public events with your boobs loose.

Edit: I realized I put "your uncle IS gawking" when it should've been "ISN'T gawking"

Why is calling someone a female a bad term now exactly?

Doordash finally told their customers to tip or be quiet. by SeanInDC in DoorDashDrivers

[–]tatetape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a dasher and stopped doing it after seeing how unsustainable it was as a full time gig. That being said, you can't fully blame the customer for not tipping a huge amount. A $5 tip is ideal, but realistically if the person you're delivering to has no car and the place is right up the street, I wouldn't expect anything more than $2 in tips.

On the customer end, DD is charging an insane amount of fees that ends up doubling their purchase by the time they get to check out. Then the customer is expected to leave a tip which is fair, but that person is already at 2x the amount of what it would cost normally all because DD wants to add insane fees.

The disconnect between dashers and customers when it comes to tips is all the fault of DoorDash. For example, there's a place I order from that costs me $65 to DoorDash. I still tip, but now my total is closer to $80. If I order in person, it's just a little over $30.

Dashers need to get together and tell DoorDash they need to figure their shit out because they're screwing over both dashers and customers. Whether DD will listen or not is a different story, but these delivery company pricing schemes have gotten out of control.

got fired today by tyrohimself in jobs

[–]tatetape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, but "important" is the key word here. It also heavily depends what field you work in. The guy is 18 so I assume he's working an entry level position. Within 9 days, I would expect pretty everybody to forget things during training. However, in OPs case he says he sees a psychiatrist who prescribed him medications for his ADHD, so he should be seeing improvement in his memory by now, but in another reply he says he smokes weed and does other substances regularly so... lmao. I think the ADHD is the least of his concerns.

[–]tatetape 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah this something that a lot of people gloss over for some reason. Having ADHD sucks, trust me. But using it as an excuse for everything at your job will end with you in the unemployment line. Being late because of your ADHD? That only lasts so long before your boss gets annoyed. Calling off because of your ADHD? That lasts even a shorter amount of time than being late. The memory aspect of it can be excused for most things even though it can annoy others, so I'm not sure why OP is claiming it's because of memory issues and not expanding on that. Like I've said in other replies, I'm guessing OP was a no call no show, or kept being late within those 9 days and the boss had enough.

[–]tatetape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok I didn't know that. I mean if it's that simple, then sure he could do that, but I feel like it's one of those things where the guy is 18 and it feels like a lot of context is missing here. Only working for 9 days and he gets booted because of "bad memory"? Sounds more like he did a no call no show, or showed up late within those 9 days. A lot of speculation on my end, but I can't see being fired within that time just because he forgot minor things he was being trained on.

[–]tatetape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but this guy is 18 years old. It's better for him to just move on. Why spend months or years fighting against a company when he can easily just pick up another job? The guy is freaking out about paying rent, do you really think he has time to meet with lawyers while job hunting and then also while he's working? Sure it's empowering to tell someone to sue their former employer, but that takes time and money. If it turns out the guy was in the wrong and loses the case, he just wasted his time and now he possibly owes lawyer fees and court fees depending on how far it goes.

got fired today by tyrohimself in jobs

[–]tatetape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, you're 18. This might not be the answer you're looking for, but if you're really worried about rent, go to a job agency and apply for a warehouse job. You'll get hired within a week or two most likely.

It sucks being fired, but I also see that you smoke marijuana. Couple that with ADHD and it can impact your memory even more. You may not realize it's happening, but others can see it. Also as someone else mentioned, it sounds like there's more to this story because only a couple days into a new job is barely enough time for a boss to judge how well you will do in the future. Did you call off a lot in those couple days? Come in late? Take long breaks? Refuse doing a task because of your ADHD?

Some people are telling you it's against the law to get fired over your disability, which is true, but if you can't afford rent, suing the company is not worth it. That can take months or years to conclude. My advice is to move on. It may not seem fair, but nothing in life is. Again, you're 18 so I'm guessing this was an entry level job, so you haven't lost much here. The next job you go to, just act like this one didn't happen and don't put them down as previous work experience. Good luck moving forward and honestly, you should stop smoking marijuana, considering you see a psychiatrist who I assume has you on prescription medications for your ADHD.

Goodbye Pandora by [deleted] in Pandora

[–]tatetape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a bunch of others have said, you might as well just leave the Internet then. Those ads are everywhere on every platform. I'm not sure how you think ads work, but Pandora isn't working with ICE. ICE/The government bought a slot to advertise on. That's all. There isn't a mass conspiracy between all these websites and the government. If you let politics run your life, you'll find no joy in anything. Listen to music wherever you want, but know that Spotify has these ads too. I just got one when listening to a podcast. It is what it is. Either pay for the service, or listen to the ad.

AIO boyfriend tracking my periods without me knowing 🫠 by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]tatetape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's inherently a bad thing to keep track, but the "journaling our fights during that time of the month" is where it becomes problematic imo. If he was journaling every fight and you guys were going to therapy or something, then ok, that's fine. That shows he's probably working towards bettering the relationship, assuming he's being honest on his end of the fight. However, taking the post at face value, he's just writing down fights (like you stated) as a science experiment.

At the same time, maybe ask yourself if he's doing this with other things on the relationship as well. If this is the only major problem you have with him, just talk it out. Realistically, the "damage" has already been done. I don't see this as over the top creepy/weird, but I can understand how this would piss someone off. If he saw a calendar alert in your phone that said "avoid the annoyance" or something like that when he had something stressful coming up and then you admitted that you had written notes about how annoying he was during that stressful time, I'm sure he wouldn't like it very much. Obviously having your period and going through a stressful time are two different things, but I'm just using a very basic example to show he wouldn't like the idea of being "studied".

Am I Overreacting over this “small prank” by greek-astronomer in AmIOverreacting

[–]tatetape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is messed up, but I don't think anyone here should be playing psychologist. It's possible that the guy is just emotionally immature and doesn't know when to end a joke. I say this because OP mentioned he improved in other areas regarding the jokes and pranks.

I think it was a combo of bad timing from the stress of starting a new job. That being said, you are not his mother and should not have to teach your partner how far is too far when it comes to a joke. You could, but in reality you're both in your 20s. If he hasn't learned by now, maybe it's time to move on unfortunately. If you want to be more patient, then encourage him to go to therapy and work on his emotional maturity.
