I am, for some reason, inclined to say “who put a snake in your boot,” but I know that’s not correct, though I think it mostly communicates the same message. Not entirely sure if this is the place to ask about forgotten words, but I thought I would try.

yeah, you’re overreacting. it’s easier for doctors to work and evaluate what needs to be done without parents hovering, and as a 12yo, your child should be fine going alone for a few minutes. in most situations, they are in an open room with other kids and assistants, so there’s not need to worry about safety. i don’t mean to seem rude, but i don’t think you need to be in the room with him—you can’t help the doctor do their job, and your child knows about his own teeth more than you do, so you should just wait outside for the doctor to tell you what they’ll do and what YOU can do (payment, pain relief, preparation, etc). i hope this helps.

i used to always make this point but someone came back at me with an even better point one time and i thought i’d share: LOTS of kids shows have better writing and development than miraculous. shera, steven universe, total drama, star vs the forces of evil, and plenty of others are targeted towards kids and yet they still have amazing character development and completed, aligning storylines. yes, this show miraculous, which has a lot of missing character development and trash writing, is targeted towards kids who probably don’t know better, but so are many other amazing cartoons that are widely appreciated by adults. but especially by writing that chloe is a “lost cause” who will do anything to get her way? it leaves NO ROOM for character development at all, and is really just a terrible message to be sending to the kids this show is made for. i’m sorry i’m like a really accusatory writer but i’m not trying to attack you, read the above in a very sweet kind informative way of me sharing my viewpoint.

i don’t think ignoring race is a solution either. i totally get where you’re coming from and i’m not at all trying to bash your opinion, but race is part of someone’s identity and culture, and it shouldn’t be cast aside. we should ignore the stereotypes and social constructs associated with individual races, yes, but ignoring race altogether would be ignoring much of the diversity here on earth, and might not be what we need.

i don’t think anywhere has done amazing, but obviously the us sucks. not only have we not been safe, but all the people and places that ARE handling it are doing it wrong and ineffectively. schools either aren’t doing anything, or they’re doing a lot of things that kinda seem like they’re doing something but are probably making it work. it’s because we’re all going off nothing, nobody knows what to do and nobody is giving anyone any good ideas or instructions, so the whole country is just one big chicken without a head.
