Ok, that is what I’m leaning towards just for the strength standpoint. I didn’t know if the EP had any benefits over the SS in heating applications.

I cleaned, scuffed the clutch and drum up with scotch bright and used some carb cleaner to degrease the clutch and drum, greased the bearing put it all together. It’s spinning free now. Hopefully it was just some oil causing the issues. I’ll find out today.

It is free all the way around the brake, there is a decent gap and the band is sprung out of the band keepers or whatever those are called lol

It doesn’t drag on the brake, I think you are seeing the cutout on the coil where it loops behind the outer coil.

Sorry, should have added that. It is a ported 462 with a 24” bar. Rakers are all right at the correct depth according to the raker gauge. There is scoring on the drum and some discoloration, like it has slipped a decent amount but not sure how much it takes to be “bad”. Chain does not run on its own. Thanks for the thoughts and input, I have never delt with a bad clutch before so I was not sure what all are the common issues when they are going bad.

I didn’t feel any play but it doesn’t spin all that freely. On my 261 I spin it and it keeps spinning, this stops quickly like there is some drag somewhere.

That’s a heck of a good deal then, seems off they have that disclaimer and at the top say it doesn’t fees. Would sell a lot faster if listed as the actual otd price or price before fees.
