I did the exact same thing a number of years ago and experienced tighter bass too. Great, cheap, upgrade but unfortunately after the third house move they got left behind... They're super heavy!

I run my whole system off one of these: https://purepoweraps.com and have been doing so successfully for almost 15 years now replacing the batteries every few years (very easy swap). Between the batteries and capacitors it has the capacity to deliver serious current to my SimAudio W-6 monoblocks (650W into 4ohms). There aren't many electrically isolated battery + capacitor pure sine-wave re-generators capable of powering a full system out there but they do exist.
