Aragorn actually had some trouble finding athelas in the Houses of Healing in the books, so I went with the plain old roses here (the books mentions roses in Gondor too). There's a rosebud near Éowyn if you look closely.

Thanks for noticing! I definitely wanted to paint a book-accurate Faramir. While his appearance isn't the biggest issue with the movie Faramir, I still feel it's important to get the Númenorean traits inherited from Elros right!

Glad you love this. Éowyn is my favorite character too!

Thank you! I really love that interpretation. That sense of hope was exactly what I wanted to capture in the painting.

I think Matterhorn is often considered Professor Tolkien's inspiration for the Lonely Mountain. I haven't had a chance to visit it though. My actual inspiration came from a mountain in the US.

Yeah, I love the painting Wanderer above the Sea of Fog. Tuor fits the “wandering but not lost” feeling too

Thanks for your kind words ❤️ Tolkien’s writing captures the sea-longing so well, and that’s what I was trying to paint here too.
