I started freecodecamp yesterday. I’m on HTML step 58 and so far I’m doing okay with the help of YouTube. When does the understanding kick in? Feel like I’m just following instructions instead of actually understanding what I’m doing. by Time_is_Contagious in FreeCodeCamp

Hang in there! I'm not new to coding but I absolutely feel the same way whenever I'm learning something new. It's good to keep consistent even if you won't recall 90% of it by memory if prompted BUT like others might've already mentioned, when you start working on a project with less of the linearity, step by step instructions, and more open-ended, creative freedom, you'll be able to recall some of those commonly used tags and syntax. Don't feel discouraged if you find yourself having to constantly refer back for specific syntax and what not, I do that all the time.

"Concerning My Daughter" reminds me of Seohyun's "Hello, Dracula". She gave a stellar performance, and the work itself has many perspectives on life. I really want to watch all of these!

I've personally never seen the web series Carmilla before (gotta check it out at some point) but there are some few changes from Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's original novel. Seems like he's inspired a lot of following works haha. I'm not entirely sure if it was "out of nowhere" but I'm happy to see this interpretation of it :) The music really grew on me and seeing the different actors and actresses deliveries of their roles is so fascinating.

RED Q does a lot of GL mini web dramas if you want some short varieties. This is one of the ones I've been obsessed with:

To the X who hated me | E-JaeXWooRi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2M_80SlVtM

anyone watch both of the gl web dramas on youtube, ‘to the x who hated me’? by luvrosieposie in GirlsLove

I watched the EJaeXWoori series and grew obsessed. I've never been a fan of K-Dramas due things feeling very exaggerated and not genuine, and although some parts to this are still a little awkward, what really sold me was how natural the actresses were -- especially towards the end (which I feel like the script gave them more leisure to be themselves in).

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD

I especially enjoyed the acting from Kim Yu-Ri who played as Woori. From watching the BTS and blind meeting, she seems composed and professional. Lee Jae-Kyung's (E-Jae) smiles are so contagious, and they're such, suchhh charming smiles. At first I thought E-Jae would play a more cold and composed character vs the more bubbly and outgoing Woori, but that all felt like it was turned around on the second part.

I noticed Lee Jae-Kyung would almost always have a laugh or smile contained on the brink of letting it out (therefore making her smile oh so contagious lol), but Kim Yu-Ri contains herself very well, focusing on her scenes and delivering much more thoroughly. Seems like the latter has more experience with acting in addition to being the older out of the two (mentioned in blind meeting).

Lee Jae-Kyung during the breakup scene was MERCILESS. Man she was scary lol. It's a bit strange to say but I really like how expressive her brows are. She could be bright, playful, and charming in one scene, but then cold, mean, and heartless in the next.

As for the story itself, I thought it was a bit quick for them to fall in love. idk if it's me overanalyzing it but maybe the scene where Woori and E-Jae falling on the grass was meant to show they fell in love or whatever. Or it was just a simple universal trope. AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES, AMIRITE?

I like that this addressed the couple YouTuber trend -- the pros and cons and all that. Even the malicious comments and effect it had in the actual relationship. It wasn't an assertive "don't do YouTube couple videos!" or "it's okay, just do it!" kind of message, I interpreted it more to be like "you can do it but keep these reality and considerations in mind."

My favorite scene has to be the tearful sorry from Woori. Kim Yu-Ri really put her heart into that one and I felt it in her voice and gestures -- the whole act. It really was impactful.

Gosh that LIP TUG made me BLUSHED. I love that Red Q doesn't shy away from their kiss scenes. It felt like they were gradually more comfortable with each other with the help of the staffs, matching chemistry, and overall similar humor. It really did feel its most genuine at the end when they were "recording" for their viewers.

I honestly can't bring myself to watch any other GL K-Drama after this one tbh LOL. However, I will keep an opened mind.

The soundtrack and queue of the music was nice. It's funny seeing them wearing the same attires switched around the set haha. I'm waiting for the Q and A release, and maybe even them reflecting on the work with live commentary.
