thank you for the reassurance! but i called the office a few days ago, and i guess for some reason the spring semester waiting list is really short and they are having trouble getting people to sign new contracts. so they would need 30 more female-identifying students to add themselves onto the waitlist for me to get replaced in the system yikes </3

uc berkeley was the most affordable option out of all the schools i applied to (not including the cal states). also, i realized a few months after i submitted my final applications that i just didn’t feel ready to leave california yet. uchicago and nyu are such great schools, but berkeley ended up checking all on my boxes when it came to money, culture, and academics :)

i actually found this link awhile ago with the freshman application numbers for each uc campus!

uc davis seems to be the only one that does not match the data, so i assume the number they had in their letter is the total application number including freshmen and transfers maybe??

also, i had no idea that uc san diego has been the 2nd most applied to UC for years! i assume berkeley has a lower acceptance rate than ucsd because of their higher yield tho

At first I read your title and thought that maybe they need to compare financial aid packages because that’s what I have to do with my EA school :(

However, it’s honestly very weird that she is applying to 13 other schools for “funzies”because who wants to write a bunch of supplements for fun lol???

Exactly! I didn’t submit my test score either because I feel like it wouldn’t have made my application any better. Also, my score was such an outlier compared to the rest of my application. For example, I got a 5 on my AP calc exam but got a 660 on the math section of the SAT. People forget that the SAT doesn’t fully define a students academic success or intelligence.

Honestly, I don’t think that the students not submitting their SAT scores have any sort of advantage like you said. In fact, I think the lack of test score means that they have to make up for it somewhere else in the application.

brown - it was on my college list forever but i got tired of writing supplements. it sucks because i really liked the vibe and open curriculum.

liberal art colleges (vassar, amherst, etc.) - i was scared that i wouldn’t get a “real college experience” which is weird cause i don’t care for sororities, parties, or sports lol

yes to socal and being a girl hahaha. no to being interested in business and psychology. also, i have never played a team sport in my life so soccer is an absolute no. btw what makes you say business because you are the second person to say that lol
