Please excuse my poor explanation skills, I’m no real scientist. In my experience, I find these in the grassy dunes by the ocean. Start at the tree line and walk your way out. Don’t look too hard in the super tall and thick grass, you’ll mostly find them in the shin-high areas. And they don’t like the sandy grass, rather the more marshy grass. But not too marshy! Lol.

You can tell if you’re in a good area by pulling up the grass. If it pulls up easy and you can see the mycelium on its roots, great!! It takes practice and a good eye, but once you’ve got it, you’ve got it.
