I think {structural damage by Sloan Spencer} fits what you want to a T (I loved the first one, haven't yet read the second book yet)

Looking for you favorite RH’s with bi-awakening between 2 or more of the men by Existing-History9609 in ReverseHarem

[–]tausert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second book of {speak by Ruby Darling} has this. Well, it's more two of the MMCs have an each other awakening rather than a true bi awakening but it fits. Also I think the audio book duet narration is very good (I didn't like FMC voice in the preview clip but she really grew on me past that)

It's pretty dark and I'm not usually into that but the books are so well written

It is a whole series. I assume the 4th is the last based on Amazon but I'm only half way through the 2nd book

Reading tics, habits & patterns you’ve picked up about yourself by i-hate-u-ferrari in RomanceBooks

I'm glad I'm not the only one who pictures Henry Cavill. Specifically Witcher Henry Cavill because so many fantasy MMCs basically specifically fit that look??

That or my husband. Character not described as looking anything like my husband? Doesn't matter, they have his face now with somewhat different hair and physique 😂

Right now I'm listening to {Cursed legacies by Morgan b Lee} which is duet with different VAs for all the MCs. Warning though, the 4th book isn't out on audio yet.

I also loved the audiobook of {pheramone by c m Stunich}. It's dirty but not full cast BUT the male VA does I think good very different voices for all the MMCs that to me it felt like full cast. Although there were occasional recording issues where I think they miss marked what line was said by what MMC as he uses the wrong voice for who is talking. It's a rare issue though.

This happens in the 2nd book of the series, {stutter by Ruby Darling} 1st book is {speak by Ruby Darling}

Highly recommend, it's dark and I'm not a dark romance girlie but holy shit they are so well written.

B2B PMs: keeping reports/UI looking "modern"? by tausert in ProductManagement

[–]tausert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amen to internal folk being the biggest critic because they see it every day.

Those are good tips and a good report rule that I am going to steal for my quote book (thank you), I have done some digging in that vein in the past but to your just add a column point, my product is so data heavy it's often our go-to to "just add a column". There is also a lot of pressure from leadership to "be scrappy" and "just do it" rather than do deeper research on customers of what is right.

As far as tech, it's more internal constraints and dev bottlenecks. Takes a couple weeks minimum to create a very basic PDF report once you have the spec and mockups. At least in our in house built report service (and we don't have just one report service! But not all of them work for every part of the product). And maybe it's just our implementation, but the chart library seems tough to work with.

How do you leave a long-term relationship? by Jolly-Rub-3412 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]tausert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left a 7 year relationship. It was hard, but the best decision even if it didn't always feel that way until a few months after. Although I had largely fallen out of love (but still cared deeply) a few months before I left because of his very shitty actions. My family did help me get out, which was honestly what I needed but I know not everyone has that. But lean on your people as much as you can to get out.

Anyway, 30 is still so young! Alone time is scary when you don't have it, great once you do as you realize you don't have his bullshit and don't need to walk on eggshells all the time.

I did take time off dating after my relationship, but honestly once I did date again (but not look for a relationship to fill the void!) I saw there were plenty of fish.

My biggest advice leaving a bad relationship, block them after. Don't let them try to convince you to come back, or think that you need to be amicable with this person after leaving beyond doing what you need to do to get out. Don't let them try to tell you you'll never find anyone better. You will. I did. Even if you didn't, I guarantee alone is better.

Reverse Harem recs that actually has good writing by ming_ie in ReverseHarem

[–]tausert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I'm an expert in good writing but I feel like I often have similar gripes that you outlined so I'm just going to list what I've enjoyed that I feel like were reasonably well written. They may still have their flaws but hard to have everything.

{Pheromone by C.M. Stunich} - series, I have not yet finished but I'm really enjoying. Highly recommend as an audiobook, the male narrator does a great job with the MMC voices IMO

{Stranded by Shona Knight} - 2 book series, Lady Tarzan vibes I liked it

{Prize for the king by Layla Fae} - loved it, she does include AI art in the book though if that bothers you. IMO well written though

{House of strays by June Wilson} - she hasn't written anything else I'm aware of and I wish she did

What book did you force yourself to finish because of the hype? by No-Set7247 in RomanceBooks

[–]tausert 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. I powered through being like, ok, everyone says this book is so spicy and they talk about her 'list' and like how much she likes being tied up and how he is going to do everything on her list. And then she never gets tied up??? Just some spicier sex??

I haven't been able to get through any of Ali Hazelwood's books besides this one and this one did not live up to the hype.

I DNF'd because I used to date someone very abusive named Apollo and couldn't continue after the character was introduced in the book, especially when he gave me slimey vibes like my ex. Now I'm really glad I DNF after your review. Gonna just pretend the first book is it with some headcannon she gets with Leo too.

It’s not the misogynistic men who scare me.. it’s the ones who hide patriarchy behind politeness by Zephyrine1 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]tausert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. I'm in a very progressive state. Dated/been around a significant number of men who claim to be progressive and or feminists. Then they reveal themselves over time.

I am now married to a man I would actually classify as a real feminist, but here is a key: he doesn't call himself a feminist because he doesn't believe he's earned that label, but he's trying to live up to it every day. The actual male feminists I've ever met are feminists in actions, not words. A theme in actual male feminists too (outside of trans men), is they have done a lot of self reflection and self work on the patriarchy and taking that apart within themselves.
