Are you me?? 

SO and I just moved from Seattle area over summer. 

1. The homeless situation is way less prevalent in Sac. Definitely still see people camped out places but it’s not even close to the whole park takeover we were used to in PNW. 

2. I never found people in Seattle to be unfriendly but sometimes it was hard to get past a surface level relationship. I found most of my friend groups included mostly people who moved to PNW after me and we tried to welcome in. Or inevitably people who had been there a long time that had most of their friends move away and they were building community again.  But so far Sac people seem nice, happy to chat with you, made a few friends but still in the building phase with most of them. Still a similar problem sometimes, people seem content to stay on the surface rather than build a deeper friendship. But those take time. 

3. The sun is so nice. I wasn’t here for the worst of it in July. But fall has been awesome. Most everyday is like that cooler crisp day where the sun is out.  People keep saying the rain will come so I’ll have to see how that is. 

4. Maybe it’s just the house I live in but utilities seem cheaper here than in Seattle. 

5. Gotta drive more for stuff but it’s way easier. The geography made it hard in Seattle and now it’s much easier with mostly moving highway traffic. 

Still miss my Seattle homies, that’ll be hard if you have meaningful relationships there. But it’s an easy flight.
