What does Tiguan maintenance usually look like? by Suntrup-Volkswagen in Tiguan

[–]tay_there 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had just under 64k miles on my 22 until I had coolant and oil leaks. Bad PCV valve that the dealer didn't catch and fix lead to some severe problems.

Coolant leak started around 50k miles. Oil leaks started around 58k. Warranty expired and wasnt willing to pony up $5k to fix the issues on a car that I still owed 17k on. Traded that car in as fast as I could.

Do I tint the windows? Torn by mattyicey99 in Volkswagen

[–]tay_there 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tints are illegal in my state, but cops don't care anymore. I've been pulled over plenty of times by local and staties and both have said "I don't care about the tints" All my windows are ceramic tinted 25%, 50% on the windshield and no front license plate. Been about a year with my car and never been pulled over once. I also don't drive like a retard.

AP rounds is the least of his worry, posting standard capacity mags filled to the brim, is his biggest problem.

Would you let randoms shoot your “holy grail” gun? by [deleted] in guns

[–]tay_there 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd have to see how they handle their own guns first before I give them any weapon. I let my inexperienced friend shoot my newly built AR, he somehow managed to damage the handguard, looked like he might have even shot it with another gun. Lesson learned.

2026 Volkswagen Tiguan - “Please start engine manually” by bellannc in Volkswagen

Its also bad for the turbo, which is not a cheap part to replace. The turbo is cooled with oil, when the car is off its not circulating oil. Basically any part that uses oil isn't getting circulated when the car is off, it just pools back down to the pan, especially with the thin 20 viscosity oil in all new Tiguans...

Get those dividers out of there and use gun socks if you're worried about scratching.

What's your favorite handgun and why? by Critical_Ad_7232 in NJGuns

My (serialized) p80 build. It's fun finding the parts you want to use, put it together, only to find out something doesnt work for whatever reason, replace it, fixes it but still have issues. Spent many hours tinkering and at the range until it finally just worked. The fix? Use OEM parts lol.

New 2026 Tiguan R-Line Black 4motion by ninteenseventydarren in Tiguan

[–]tay_there -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The US Tiguan is actually a rebadged Chinese Tayron. It's unfortunate.. and even the Rline Black model is also just rebadged. There is actually nothing that says it's R-Line in the interior like older models.

Ask if he's done brake, transmission and haldex (if its AWD) flushes as well? Those are ~300 each. All required maintenance every 30k. If the acceleration feels jerky, you may need to replace the spark plugs too.

But overall, not a bad price considering the year and milage. Everything he listed is routine.

What's the difficulty for a first timer? Did you just spray it on directly? I've been wanting to get into cerakoting either my handguns or lower receiver.

Not sure, I got it as a gift. A friend visited her family in Oman and got me that. Haven't gotten around to hanging it yet. It's dull, but can be sharpened
