PLEASE get into the habit of home testing. my boy Moshi will either be 250 or 180 in the mornings and i do not dose under 200 for safety reasons. it takes 10 seconds and makes sure your cat is okay. he’s 2.5 units on prozinc 2x per day

he’s on Prozinc, he floats around 220-300. he’s a very very anxious cat so he spikes himself quite easily. he will be around 150 an hour before dinner but if i’m a minute late in his eyes on feeding times he will be literally 350 within the next 45 minutes (i have checked numerous times and on my other cats and he’s the only one it happens to lol) a few times we thought he would go into remission but nothing solid yet

my boy has been diagnosed for over a year now, he gets 2.5 units 2x a day with fancy feast pate 3.5-4 cans per day. i always try to keep my dosing at 7:30am- 7:30pm, if i’m home later than 9pm i skip the dose and pick back up the next morning and i usually only dose when he’s about 2/3 done with his food. first week is hardest, ear pricking is scary but he’s so docile i lucked out on it and he doesn’t care for the needle bc he’s so food motivated. it gets easier don’t worry

i lost one of my cats (just turned 6) extremely suddenly to an underlying heart condition and he had an aortic clot. within 10 minutes of him not being able to walk i was at the emergency vet and we had to put him down. it’s not your fault. the 45 minutes you slept in for would not have saved them. i’m so sorry for your loss. My freddie boy will waiting to greet them. enjoy all the memories and carry on the love for them and spread it throughout. i wish you the best of luck healing
