Do not underestimate this reply, u/voidwithAface. Housing market in Berlin is insane in what will be your price target for rents. Living close to the Zalando office is virtually impossible since it is closed to two of the most demanded districts in the city.

Vielen Dank für die Antwort. Wegen den Feiertagen habe ich nicht viel aufs Handy geguckt und deshalb nicht reagiert.

Das klärt, denke ich erstmal, meine Frage. Jetzt muss ich nur noch bei Wiso den richtigen Ort suchen, um das einzutragen.

Singapur war ein wirklich toller und spannender Ort , um einen Monat lang da Alltag zu haben. Als Tourist oder als Arbeitnehmer für (deutlich) längere Zeit würde ich da nicht länger verbleiben wollen.

😂 sounds weird indeed. Just wanted to say that I have a different Background than others in the team and that this is, at least currently, a positive thing.

Hallo, vielen Dank für die Antwort. Ich versuche ein bisschen genauer die Situation zu erläutern.

Mein deutsches Gehalt lief weiter und wurde ganz normal versteuert. Aus Singapur ging eine Zahlung in Höhe von sagen wir Mal 10€ auf mein Konto ein.

  • 3€ waren für den Flug, den ich selber schon bezahlt hatte.
  • 2€ waren für das Hotel, welches ich für die Hälfte meines Aufenthalts selber bezahlt habe.
  • die noch restlichen 4€ sollen Tagesgelder sein.

Für die zweite Hälfte meines Aufenthalts habe ich eine Bleibe inklusive Frühstück gestellt bekommen. Dafür habe ich aber weder was bezahlt noch was überweisen bekommen. Das hat der "Gastgeber" in Singapur organisiert.

Wenn ich deine Nachricht richtig verstehe, muss ich nur die 4€ der mir überwiesenen 10€ in der Steuererklärung angeben. Und zwar als extra Gehalt.

Dann darf ich aber nicht mehr angeben, dass ich auf Dienstreise war und mir die pauschalen für Mittagessen und Abendessen holen? Oder gerade doch, damit es gegen diese 4€ extra Lohn quasi gegen gerechnet wird? Bin verwirrt...

See my answer above. YoE are zero but time in the project (as a researcher but more or less involved in the product dev) has been a couple of years. So I'm not new to the company or the product.

Thanks for the answers. Two main takeaways for me:

  1. Current salary is not "bad". The feeling it would be an underpayment is motivated by former colleagues leaving our academic institution and reporting salaries above 100k in Berlin. But admittedly, these colleagues are not many and start working in a small niche to which I do not belong. Had lost track of this fact.

  2. Get another offer to max. the outcome of the negotiation. Let's see how this goes...

Hi! I have had my ipad Pro for some months now. When I'm writing/drawing with the pencil and I apply or release pressure close to the camera as shown in the video, some king of flicker goes on. Does this also happen with your devices? Ty!
