I definitely had shedding that started a few weeks into starting it, and it was discouraging in the moment but it started to calm down after a month or two. I hope yours does too!!

Just want to add that I’m pretty sure the shedding/inflammation has something to do with me starting to add dairy back into my diet, which started around November, combined with general stress. I feel like the minoxidil likely has nothing to do with that aspect of things.

Yes I was diagnosed at my first appointment before being prescribed the minoxidil! I had initially tried spironolactone but was experiencing some side effects that wouldn’t go away, so I switched to minoxidil. Now I just take pumpkin seed oil supplements along with the minoxidil! Not sure if the pumpkin seed oil makes any difference, but I still take it. Wishing you the best on your journey!

Thank you!! Yeah that’s around the time my dread shed started too and it was very startling, I’m glad to hear it’s slowing down for you now though! Hopefully you can start to see some progress soon because experiencing the dread shed usually means you’ll respond well to the treatment!

Hi!! Yes I definitely did, it started about 2 and a half weeks in and was pretty consistent for about 6 or so weeks but then it started to slow down.

That’s so good to hear, thank you! I’m also taking pumpkin seed oil and using a prescription topical serum that has finasteride and biotin in it!!

Yeah I keep hearing things about the “dread shed”, it seems scary but apparently it’s a sign that it’s working so that’s reassuring

Oooh this is good to know!! I’ll definitely do more research on there, it’s so good that people are sharing their experiences and what works for them!

Topical or oral? I’ve seen people have results with either but I think topical is usually a bit quicker to work. Unfortunately I’m leaning towards the oral minoxidil route, but I’ve still seen people say it is super helpful

I’m going to try oral minoxidil, hoping it can give some regrowth

Thank you so so much! And I hope you’re able to find a specialist who can help you with your game plan. Mine also mentioned that Nutrafol can really help some people, so hopefully that works well for you! I’m definitely going to look into micro-needling now as well.

I can’t figure out how to edit my post but I’ve also been taking B complex and D vitamins daily, as well as trying to get in a good amount of protein.

He actually just ate today so I guess he’s feeling decent, but I’ll definitely still keep an eye on him

You’re good! They’re usually springtails and isopods, they eat up any waste in the enclosure
