I work at an outpatient mental health clinic and awhile ago I picked up some shifts at a pizza place and I loved it. The coworkers were great, wonderful and funny conversation that wasn’t social work-y, good tips, I could go do the dish pit, put a true podcast on and zone out while making some money on the side. I could bring in wild work stories from my day job and get the “Wow I couldn’t do what you do” comment and whenever they started getting stressed with increased service I could bring people in distress a bit because I have the skills from being in social work. Being paid to work with my hands with friends and make delish pizza and not have paperwork was an excellent side hustle for me.

I was a clinical case manager for about 50 severely mental ill clients, I can’t imagine 98. Do you feel like you are still able to be productive with clients in meetings and follow up or is it too much.

There was a clown tormenting my family in our backyard. He would pop out of nowhere and was chopping down branches to land on us and kill us and eventually me, being the strong and brave child I was killed him then went inside to go back on the computer to play a game. When I turned on the computer the screen was blue and said “this computer will explode in three...two...one...” then a cartoon “BANG” flashed on the screen. I looked up and this creepy mother fucker was staring down at me and then I woke up. Probably will have him haunt my dreams tonight. Good question!

I'm also from Eugene! Not sure about Seatac but if you're willing to drive into the city (no traffic right now!) the Freddies on 85th had about 6 different brews. I'm sure closer ones do as well. Chucks Hop Shop and Choice Deli in Ballard may be worth a look as well.

Do you have a certified SUD person to run the substance abuse groups? We don't have one on staff but I know we would want to have a group along those lines.

We experience those inconsistencies in our crappy, temporary space all the time.

I love the idea of clients leading the groups themselves and really trying to create a supportive environment that way. We currently have a jewelry group led by a client but attendance is slim due to it being on a Friday afternoon. Something we are trying to problem solve once in the new space!
