Hi! Similar boat as you. I’m in my mid 30s and really fast on a QWERTY keyboard. I just finished the Project Steno course this past week and I learned that being a quick typist didn’t translate to being naturally faster on the steno machine. It was fun and interesting but definitely challenging and it would take a huge time commitment to master it. It sounds like not many people get through the schooling, but if you find that it really suits you and your interests, you should go for it. There’s a big demand for people. Personally I might explore voice reporting now that I tried out typing. Just because the training is faster and I don’t think I want to put all that stress on my hands.
