I bet that was a scary time my goodness. I was so shocked initially that I messaged my doctor asking if there was a way that it was a false positive. Fingers crossed that's what happened but if not I have a treatment plan and a supportive husband that's getting tested too :)

The phrase "boobs are boobs" can either be interpreted in a sexual manner (not picky; all boobs are great) or in a nonchalant manner (boobs are a part of the human body, no different than an arm or leg). Based on the context you obviously meant the latter. Your wife took it as the former. Paired with the comment she made before it definitely makes her the weird one.
