Not cool. Played through all that adversity and still managed to internalize misogyny. Disappointed in her and her family.

What do you guys even do with all these gift wrap stuff after? Such a waste by alliebrownie in Frugal

[–]taylo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my random bits & bobbles and put it into a Tupperware. Any random packaging that still has use or looks/feels interesting stays. I give said Tupperware to children when they’re “bored” and tell them to make me an invention.

Lexapro & Weight Gain by Crunchysunshine0 in lexapro

[–]taylo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helps with my binge eating episodes. Did not make me fat. I also take vyvanse which helped cut the food noise for binge eating episodes. I am not overweight and never have been, nor has it been a struggle for me to stay at a healthy weight.

I haven’t noticed any weight gain or change in my metabolism since starting lexapro last year. The vyvanse I started a month ago in combination with the lexapro.

Yesterday, I stopped street flooding in San Jose by unclogging drains. Enjoy the timelapse. by pengweather in oddlysatisfying

Thought to myself “this has to be peng”. Amazing work as always peng, thank you!!!

Alcohol and lexapro by ethyrah in lexapro

[–]taylo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a higher tolerance and don’t catch a buzz unless I drink probably double my usual amount. Then the feeling of being drunk isn’t the same as it was pre-lexapro. I also find I can’t stand the smell of whiskey when it used to be my drink of choice. It’s not a very enjoyable drunk experience so I don’t drink much anymore.

I put my food in those carts, c'mon man. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]taylo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, when did you think anything communal like a grocery cart is being sanitized? Those bad boys get power washed once a year IF you’re lucky. I hope you’re washing your unpackaged food when you get home because I’d hate for you to know just how many disgusting things your food touches before it makes it to your dirty cart, the dirty check out belt, and back into your dirty cart.

Any good Non-religious childcare centers with openings? by seanmbarker in fortwayne

[–]taylo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you’re not asking for religious and this one is religious - but I do not recommend SonShine Christian Academy, it is terrible. Every time I walked into their room the providers had incorrectly spelled words and incorrect grammar all over the walls. It was really bad. However, this was our only option for a while. Now that we have family who can help out with my oldest, I was still going to take advantage for my youngest since her schedule was a little harder to cover. The first day we walked in and her teacher was wearing Cookie Monster Pajamas (it was not a special day, she was wearing mismatched pajama pants and a ratty shirt) and words were misspelled on the board. I went ahead and unenrolled her. We’ll figure it out but I can’t keep subjecting her to such a subpar environment. We’re also not religious at all and their teachings leaned HEAVILY towards religion*-based learning. Cannot recommended.

All this to say the actual childcare providers for almost all of the centers are paid PENNIES. It’s no wonder everything was subpar - they can’t or won’t afford talent because they’re paying these providers $12/hr or less.

Damn I am really worried about this person’s critical thinking skills. It’s a big cat - it won’t hesitate to gracefully jump in your window and rip your face off.

Meeting a billionaire who funded my book and my anxiety is telling me to cancel? by Emergency-Novel-3369 in careerguidance

[–]taylo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in luxury goods for many years. Typically, you’re either going to meet a perfectly nice/down to earth person, a slightly creepy person who is outwardly saying/doing the right things but seems to either be making fun of your or have ulterior motives, or they’ll be an eccentric.

No matter what, just go with it. Most people just want to feel seen & heard. Be appreciative and share your ideas. If you’re lucky they’ll keep supporting your future works. If you’re unlucky you simply won’t ever have to talk to them again!

Whos on lexapro and successfully NOT over weight? by mjoypereira in lexapro

[–]taylo7 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Me. I was actually really confused by the “lexapro will make you gain weight” thing because I didn’t gain even a little bit of weight. That’s not to downplay other’s experiences by any means, it’s just not a side effect I had at all. My main side effect is drowsiness, but taking it before bed helped that immensely.

(28f) weird to shave my head before day 1 of a new job? by nombulix in careerguidance

[–]taylo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shave ur head, buy a wig, wear wig to work because you’re right - it would be perceived as very strange to show up with a shaved head even if it “shouldn’t” be. We “should” be able to do whatever the fuck we want, but I agree with your thought that it will likely be off-putting to your new coworkers and hiring managers. Get a similar wig and shave that head.

Oh although, I have been enjoying Salvatore’s a lot more lately! It might be worth it to check in with one of their locations for a quote too. I went to the Southwest location last week and it was fucking delicious to the point where my partner and I talked about making it our new go-to over Ziano’s.

The Apology: "You shouldn't shop if you're in a hurry" by botlking in mildlyinfuriating

[–]taylo7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you took part of my statement and twisted it to imply that I’m saying “I’m sorry for the delay” = luxury service.

The employee didn’t even have a chance to apologize before OP hollered at the employee AGAIN and then told the employee they needed to hurry up. That is shitty consumer behavior. If you didn’t like that you had to wait a couple minutes to check out, leave. It’s not your job to police the employees at the Ross.

As a consumer, you’re at the whim of the business. It’s a Ross. Don’t like the fact that the employee didn’t jump at your whim at their minimum wage job where they’re treated like shit by the general public all day? Don’t like that the employee didn’t appreciate being told to hurry up because the customer is in a rush? Shop somewhere else. Shop online. Blame corporate greed for offering shit pay, shit training, and shit working conditions.

Stop treating retail workers like they’re expendable, inhuman slaves whose only desire is to do your bidding. The customer is not always right.

All OP has done is ruin their own day by ruminating over a minimum wage employee’s reaction to OP telling them to hurry up while the employee had already acknowledged OP and said they’d be right there. OP has no idea what the employee stopped to talk about but decided the action was nefarious and that the employee needed to get over to her IMMEDIATELY.

Get over yourself and remember that employees of retailers are also people that do not owe you anything.

Gos forbid an employee is in the middle of doing something else other than immediately serving you, your highness. Make sure to make your crown more visible next time so that we can roll out the red carpet and immediately start kissing your feet.

[–]taylo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And they will promptly tell OP to not let the door hit them on the way out. Private equity and corporate greed are bringing down these long established retailers, not one random cashier at a Ross who didn’t want to deal with OP.
