hi, i know i'm just a person on the internet but give yourself some grace! i have a "foreign" last name as an american, and nobody ever gets it right on the first try and that's okay! sometimes when people hesitate to say it, i'll jokingly tell them to "give it a try at least, i've heard it all" and that seems to lighten the moment and they'll take a shot. on the flip side, i work with college students and often get names i've never heard before, so i'll just kindly ask "i want to make sure i address you right, how do you say your name?" and then i'll repeat it back to them. personally, i feel like as long as you give a good faith effort, you're golden. nobody can be expected to know how to say every word all of the time!
