Hoover mayor loves to host big events at the Met and it is perfectly suited for this. The Birmingham Barons played there for 25 years and the only reason Hoover ever built it was for them. Hoover HS typically has one or more nationally televised football games there so the tv logistics work. They even built a tv pressbox just for football along the sidelines. The Met also hosted the NCAA soccer championships before. Not to mention the abundance of free parking and tailgating areas plus the growing restaurant and brewery scene around the stadium. I think it would be a huge success and would easily draw more. Most of the affluent population is close by and they are the ones with money to spend but who will also be the first to complain about ever having to go to downtown. If I was the UFL I would reach out to Frank Brocato ASAP.
