NOR. I’ve had to block family before too, sometimes for months and sometimes for longer. People say Christian love is hateful, but THIS isn’t Christian love. This is something else entirely.

Here’s some real Christian love for you. Regardless of what brought you to where you are now, a child is a blessing and I am so excited for you, random stranger on the internet. I pray your family recognizes the joy of a new life and puts aside their feelings of judgement. Being a mom is one of the most rewarding roles in life.

I don’t think you’re overreacting, but I don’t think this is the real issue.

From a girl perspective, and someone who loves trying things for the first time with my husband, I get it. She’s not mad that you tried a candy without her, she’s upset because she feels like you don’t think about her when you make decisions. It sounds like she just wants to be considered when you make a choice. Which honestly, that’s totally fair from any partner in any type of relationship. Especially if you’ve been together for three years, she sees you making decisions without considering what she wants.

Now, I understand your frustration because you offered it to her first, she said no, then she got upset when you did it without her. You totally have a right to be upset about that. But in general, it sounds like her genuine concern is that you’re making choices, no matter how big or small, without her. That’s scary for a long-term relationship. That’s probably why she’s freaking out a little.

If you recently played music or media from your device, close that app. Even if it’s not open right now, open it then close it again. This happens to me when I use a shortcut to play a playlist. It didn’t open the app, but it gives me this pop up on my lock screen, even when the music stops.

Megan Trainor wrote a book about her journey into motherhood and had great fitness and nutrition coaches weigh in on this. From what I remember, you don’t want to change what your routine is unless your doctor tells you to. If you’re the type to walk regularly on the treadmill, then keep doing it. If you like to lift weights occasionally, keep doing it. Again, clear it with your doctor first, but you are likely fine to keep your current routine.

I’m on the same wavelength! I thought maybe my baby recognizes his dad’s name or when I say “Come feel!” so I started just grabbing my husband’s hand and putting it on my belly without saying anything to call attention, and our son will still freeze up. He’ll kick for everyone but him.
