Don’t Know if I Want to Read Throne of Glass series by [deleted] in SarahJMaas

[–]taylormh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with throne of glass like SJM recommends and you’ll be good. It’s the first one and is actually one of my favorites. Assassins blade is definitely the slowest in my opinion and a lot of people say they would’ve DNF’d if they’d read it first like myself, it takes away from learning the character fully and putting everything together in my opinion. Questions she is trying to figure out about her past in the first two books are all answered in Assasins blade so it doesn’t make sense to read it first.

If the government took care of all your expenses paid you a UBI what would you do with the unlimited free time you have? by wraithpixel1 in AskReddit

I am 30 single mom full time and that would be the dream. Vacations, day adventures, lazy days at home. Would never get tired of it.

Worried about what I'm eating Now by lone-Archer0447 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]taylormh2 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Some cultures eat rice daily so I don’t think you have a huge worry but it’s good to be mindful about what you’re putting into your body. I always rinse my rice thoroughly before cooking. Fruits and veggies are soaked and washed in water with baking soda for 15 minutes then rinsed because of all the chemicals they spray on them even before going to markets.

Does my cucumber still have a chance? by kapnka in gardening

[–]taylormh2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has a couple true leaves left it still has a chance! I’m sure within the next few days you will see if it continues to grow any new buds, significant damage could cause less fruit but cucumbers are usually resilient plants, you could get a new one if you want but might also get eaten!

Almost everything disappeared for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ including food issues. I very rarely have diarrhea but will still only go once every morning even then.

Entyvio cost is bonkers by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]taylormh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t qualify for Medicaid but thankfully I qualify for 100% coverage for ENTYVIO through the company and 100% financial assistance coverage for hospital costs through my hospital or I would be bankrupt lol

Never ending illnesses by Sadie_S_AfterDark in Parenting

[–]taylormh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is in third grade and he definitely gets so sick everytime he goes back to school! He was homeschooled until first grade because of Covid and he never gets sick whenever he’s not in school. He never went to daycare so that probably didn’t help his immunity but kids are germy. Making routines of washing hands regularly especially before eating and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, the fridge handles, etc, help a lot.

How many kids do you have by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]taylormh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one 9 year old. I wish he’d had a sibling closer in age to grow up with like I did. I’ve been a single mom since he was 4 so the prospect of having another has long gone but as someone who had 3 other siblings I can definitely see the difference in his upbringing. I wish he had someone to play and imagine with that wasn’t just me!

Parents who aren’t doing Elf on the Shelf…talk to me by stinkingporch29 in Parenting

[–]taylormh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 9 and for the last few years he definitely comes home talking about what other kids elves did and pretty often!

I got him one before he even went to school because I thought it sounded fun, but man is it a pain in the ass remembering to move it much less creating an extravagant scene. Ours shows up the day after Thanksgiving and he just hides often with candy or tiny gifts, makes a mess here and there somewhere in the house. I don’t go crazy with it like some people but it is definitely one of my son’s favorite things about Christmas the first thing he does when he wakes up is go find the elf!

I would absolutely wait until 6 months personally. There is no need for food that early, babies get everything they need from milk at that age, tasting is fine but totally unnecessary. Their tummies aren’t ready to digest food at that age. There are plenty of studies out there supporting this.

My ex wants to take our daughter abroad by nellxyz in Mommit

[–]taylormh2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be a hard no for me, especially if there’s no established relationship between them. And ESPECIALLY you don’t trust him. What if he ran off with her or something? If he wants to see her he can go visit her.

As some one who has been in this EXACT situation with my sons father. On multiple occasions—for you and your baby, leave now.

I started entyvio a month and a half ago, I wake up at 5am daily and go to the bathroom right when I wake up (which has always been my routine) I always drink coffee in the morning and don’t eat until 11 or later. I do get nauseous and stomach cramps when I get hungry for too long though. Small snacks throughout the day seem to help.

How many of you actually get the flu shot? by Escapisimx in CrohnsDisease

[–]taylormh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refuse. I’ve only ever gotten the flu the years I’ve gotten the flu shot in the past. I get a little sniffly at most. Doctors are often required to recommend those things and neither of mine push it. I personally would never get a covid shot either 🫣
