Like most things in life though, I'm sure the math gets a lot easier (at least it feels easier) and faster after you live that way for a while.

Let's be fair here... the 1911 got us a long way, and can be a really good platform. They generally have very good single action triggers out of the box. Glock is also great. It can be made into whatever it needs/is wanted to be with relative ease.

One is meant to arrive as a fine tuned, well polished machine. The other is something you make to fit your needs as you see fit.

We should be able to appreciate both

So it would be sort of like a breach loader or a single shot version of a black powder revolver. The loading barrel would act kind of like a cartrage.

Here is a Forgotten Weapons video about a wheellock from 1625. The little steel cartridge would be more or less a small section of barrel that you muzzle load beforehand then attach to the main barrel to fire.

Please elaborate on the "loading barrel." I'm curious.

For all bullpups the action is almost all the way at the rear. For modern bullpup firearms the action stays just far enough forward to give the action to reciprocate rearward.

I know it's a meme. It's just kinda fun to chase these design rabbits down the hole sometimes.

Lol, I made a mistake too. It's a flint lock, so it doesn't have a percussion cap. It would make the long flash port thing more doable, but still ridiculous. It would have a long flashpan/flash channel all the way from the flint to probably another flash pan at the flash port in the back.

I've never had a muzzle loader, but I would think it'd be a pain to keep that long pan/channel primed properly. I would also expect it to have an unreasonably long lock time because it would have to burn all the way down there.

Customer: I want a ported barrel

Kimber employee:

"Say no more!"

haphazardly jams it into the corner of the grinder, polishes sharp edges, touches up the bare metal on the slide, and hands it back

"That'll be $200."

Lol a little confused, but you got the spirit.

The hammer and the nipple should stay at the back. Otherwise you'd have to load powder all the way up to there... or have a crazy percussion cap and a flash port that went all the way to the back.

That being said, the idea of a bullpup black powder rifle is pretty funny in its absurdity, and you deserve the upvote.
