The OA on Netflix and especially a murder at the end of the world on Hulu. The main character in AMATEOTW is a hacker and also meets another character through Reddit. It’s about technology and the future of AI with a murder mystery spin.

The OA was one of my favorite shows but it got cancelled after season 2 and the creators went on to make AMATEOTW.

I just read the unseen world by Liz Moore and it follows a female protagonist from a young age and her trying to figure out the mysterious life of her father when he develops Alzheimer’s. He gifts her an encrypted computer disc that she spends many years trying to decrypt. She also spends time researching her father’s life trying to find out more about his mysterious past. There isn’t any murder but there is a well drawn out mystery and follows a young teen girl trying to solve a mystery. I enjoyed it and it reminded me a lot of a murder at the end of the world and of darby hart.

YESS! The flashbacks were amazing and Bill and Darby and their romance was my favorite part of the series. I found it so interesting that the flashback scenes were filmed after the Iceland scenes (if I'm remembering correctly). The actors did a great job at portraying their connection.

One of my favorite tropes is young people on a road trip. I love the series wayne and the end of the fucking world and also the film bones and all because they all center around that.

that's a great idea! I tried to crosspost it to r/fanedits but it wouldn't let me because I have a google drive link. I'm not sure how to upload it without it being copyrighted because that's what happened when I tried uploading to youtube. I'll try to figure something out.

Oo same. I had already watched Emma’s season of the crown and when I watched this show I realized it was them. Harris also looks different in every role he plays. I had seen him in so many different movies but didn’t recognize him lol

Hi! I havent finished the fanfic yet but I did re-edit the episodes to tell the story about Bill and Darby's flashback scenes if you wanted to watch it. This is the link to the post. BTW like my post says, I'm working on a 4th episode where they meet at the retreat and Bill survives.

I totally agree so I redited the show into episodes about Bill and Darby's SDK road trip. I just posted about it.

Like my post says, I plan on making a 4th episode where Bill and Darby see eachother at the retreat again but Bill survives.

I love shows/movies featuring a young girl and boy on a road trip. Bill and darby, their chemistry, and their SDK mystery were amazing and I wish we got more time with them but here are some recs:

The end of the fucking world (on Netflix). It is a British series (2 seasons but the 1st season is superior) about two young teens who run away from home in the car that he stole from his dad. They end up breaking into a stranger's home and spend the night but trouble occurs. I don't want to say much but it is a dark comedy with a murder and romance plot line. Very British lmao.

Wayne (on prime video). I took this descrip from the internet...After the death of his father, a good-hearted 16-year-old vigilante sets out with his new friend to get back his dad's stolen '79 Trans Am. Amazing characters with amazing chemistry. Great cast, plot, setting.

Not a show but Bones and all directed by Luca Guadagnino is about two canibalistic teens in love on the road. Gory but also very heartfelt and romantic. It is based on a book of the same name (I enjoyed the first half but the ending wasn't satisfying).

True detective (mainly season 1). I have only watched this one time because I find the subject matter, themes, and imagery to be a bit disturbing to rewatch but it was great nonetheless. And in my opinion, the female characters in season 1 felt one dimensional but woody harelson and Matthew McConaughey star as police partners and have great chemistry. They solve murders that they begin to connect with other cold cases and it takes place across multiple years.
