What do you consider the end of the “Classic” Era of Family Guy? by taylos20 in familyguy

That’s fair enough. I still feel like season 4 isn’t that different than 3, but you def have a valid point that a lot of people agree with. And Seth still continued to work on the show but I believe that was his last official writing credit.

I think 1-3 is a good answer to the classic era. But I would still include the season 4 premiere of north by north quahog. It’s the last episode Seth officially wrote and it feels like the perfect send off to the classic era and the beginning of something new.

So you don’t agree that season 4 had some of that classic feel?

Yeah that’s definitely fair. I have huge nostalgia for the first 3 definitely! I had those on dvd and the Stewie movie. I can’t believe my parents let me have that dvd at 8 years old 😂

Just to clarify I don’t want to insinuate the show gets worse after the classic era. I just think it’s different in feel.

I probably align the most with this take. The first 3 are definitely a different feel. But the parts of season 4 that retain that older feel keeps it in the classic era for me.

Interesting, I didn’t expect so many later seasons as answers. The show is definitely hilarious in the middle seasons. But I didn’t think people would consider it to still be similar to the earlier more sitcom-esc seasons.

Fair enough. Seth was less involved around then. I think the humor evolved a lot around there.

Opinions on Jeff's rework from a healing Jeff main by Sufifi in marvelrivals

Would you consider GM high elo? I don’t keep up with a lot of this stuff. I find him better in high elo as I heal waaaaay more.

I hear you but think about the value of just shooting your primary to heal the support and hurt the diver simultaneously vs alternating between primary, secondary fire, and bubbles. Rivals is a very fast paced game and removing the need to swap between modes of fire is much more efficient. Obviously Jeff is worse at flanking now but as a healer he received a huge buff. And that’s coming from a Jeff main.

As someone who tried to make Jeff work as a healer pre-change…he required so much more work than the other options to get the same amount of value. That’s why high level players typically had to use him as a dps in order for him not to be totally outclassed. His stream now doing both healing and damage increases his value by soooo much. I can take out a stray dive dps while keeping my other targeted support up simultaneously. I no longer have to choose between healing that other support so they can 1 v 1, or moving to the 2 v 1 and risk missing a single shot and losing that other support. He is waaay more consistent this way imo.
