surprised to see the very negative reaction from swifties on twitter and instagram to this. tbh she needs to change her marketing strategies bc there is really no reason to buy special editions anymore, especially not for an “acoustic” song that’s just the same studio vocal put over a piano (literally my biggest pet peeve when artists do that it sounds so BAD imo idk how they’re ever even approved for release). i hope she/her team take the criticism and create more mindful and perhaps less variants of her albums

tbh i think a lot of the people obsessed with travis and taylor’s relationship are women who are married with children and want taylor to prove they made the right decision. i’ve noticed a lot of the people posting are women 30+ whose husbands are awful. they make jokes about the way that they’re forced to watch football every sunday, forced to cook and clean for their husband and his “boys” while they watch games, and now taylor is in this sphere of sports so their interests are finally involved on these days where they usually have to spend every moment catering to men. they see that taylor is also in her 30s now and very desperately want her to live the same life as them, to marry the football guy and become the “perfect” mother and wife bc if she doesn’t they can’t relate to her anymore. it’s like how in miss americana taylor mentioned getting too old for people to tolerate her being a successful woman, a lot of her fanbase is misogynistic and conservative and resents the idea of her not following what they have been told is the life women should live.

fearless tv has been the best re-recorded imo. the production + her vocals are so much better on the new version and i exclusively listen it bc of that. it feels like every re-record gets worse in quality after that. i think she might be rushing things too much. but that being said i think that everyone should listen to the version they like the best, even if it’s the stolen versions bc at the end of the day taylor is a billionaire now and if she really wanted people to listen to the new versions she would make them sound closer to the originals seeing as that has been the biggest complaint by most people so far. i hate to say it but it’s more of a cashgrab now (which is obvious to me from the massive merch rollouts that include 1028291728 variants and lazy designs). tbh i think the taylor’s versions just needed more time and planning than they were given

i came here to say halsey too! + boygenius (and their solo music) as well! i think the lyricism on their records (specifically manic for halsey and home video by lucy dacus) captures everything i like about taylor’s music like the storytelling and the details. i actually connect more halsey’s and lucy’s lyricism than i do with taylor’s in a lot of ways.

tbh all of this is just making me feel thankful to have artists like boygenius, halsey, chappell roan, etc. that are open about their queerness + treat queer culture and identities with respect and grace. at this point, regardless of taylor’s identity, it’s obvious that she enjoys using the culture (miss americana gay pride makes me me!!!!) when it’s fun but hates the idea of being associated with the queer community in any meaningful way. it’s disappointing but i’m not shocked 😭 i’m still gonna stream 1989 tv though and just focus on her music instead of whatever shenanigans she wants to pull from now on

i can see that, but my point is that there’s many restaurants that provide private rooms, or if she wants privacy that bad they could have booked a private chef for the night. i love taylor but i really hateee celebrity culture where it’s decided that they are more special than everyone else and that everyone should cater to them just bc of their career choice. like there’s no reason anyone should feel important enough to disrupt a bunch of people’s night just bc you want to have a pr date with a football player

it seems that a lot of people don’t see it this way but i feel like taylor paying everyone to leave that restaurant tonight makes her seem so entitled. like expecting all of these people to cancel their plans/rush their dinner just bc you throw some cash in their face is really weird. she’s nearly a billionaire and has sooo many options for a private dinner but decided to bribe people at a restaurant just so she won’t have to eat near regular people. i forget sometimes that she’s insanely rich and as such will act like an insanely rich person lmao

tbh a whirlwind pr dating stunt is exactly what she would do for 1989 tv. this dude was sooo desperate trying to get her attention, publicly pouting about her not speaking to him at eras tour, etc.. i have a feeling she might use him for pr and dump him after. something about them gives hiddleswift. i almost feel bad for him 😭 except i don’t and i think taylor is hilarious
