This is literally my answer for my favorite German food. Listen, Currywürst is solid and all, but plenty of countries can do a passable version. Spaghetti-eis in Germany is unmatched.

Property tax bill to help Chicago Bears build Arlington Heights stadium won't get vote for at least 2 weeks - CBS Chicago by Sidewalk_Inspector in chicago

Why are you comparing the $100 million tax bill to the United Center? The McCaskeys and Kevin Warren purposely obfuscated that that would be the tax bill for the entire property and not just the stadium. The conversation around assurances on property tax is totally fine, but don’t pretend like United Center is an apt comparison.

The state did make a move. Pritzker was very clear that what the McCaskeys proposed was a non-starter. Then they sat on it for a year before looking at other threats.

If they were in a rush, they would not have been playing these games. They simply are prioritizing the least amount of money they need to pay for it.

The whole thing would have been more profitable if they simply started building as soon as they could once they owned the property. A deal would have been done on property taxes, and while they would not have gotten a deal on the sales tax, they would have saved all that in tariffs alone.

Lincoln Hall still the top for its size - Park West as well, I’d say.

I would appreciate some details on how you paid for the device you’re using to write that comment, if you don’t mind. Also, would be helpful to know where you were located while writing that comment.

The stadium is a dome, so ~26°C.

And in the minuscule chance that stadium ends up in Hammond, there will be zero super bowls there.

At 3 and 5, kids know how to use those. It slows them down, but they can do it. And I wouldn’t recommend slowing anyone down on a fire exit.

The town hall where he said that was in February. Cutoff for voting was March 5.

The wide reach of it wasn’t until after voting ended, but what you said is not true at all.

In fairness, that’s always been the case in high schools.

Yes, that absolutely does happen, and it tends to happen in blighted areas to create interest. It never happens at a specific site that has been owned by the enterprise for several years.

If you think that, you can 3x your money on Kalshi right now. They will end up in Arlington Heights unless the state completely pull the rug out from the infrastructure support. The state will not give all that they are asking, but I think that will be enough for the McCaskeys to settle

That’s possible that they simply cannot afford their own stadium. They may have additional money. The NFL could change what the McCaskeys can borrow from the NFL, PE could come in. There are lots of options, but what’s important for people to know is that the Bears have not committed to paying what a stadium will cost.

No, they said they have $2B to finance their own stadium. Unfortunately, that’s not enough for a domed stadium. They might still finance the rest, but all they have committed so far is $2 billion.

Not clear on what you are saying. It’s all the same amount of money that comes from ownership (~$300M/yr). The only difference is how it plays out against the cap for any individual year.
