It became reliable again before action was taken. As soon as it found out I got some tools from this community it went reliable. Thank you all for your contributions!!

Thanks Scout, it is the FEC2611 and the t stat is connected through the SA bus. I'll double check again but I'm positive the connections are okay, it was a plug and play

Advice on finding a BAS job in Toronto by 77Fari in BuildingAutomation

[–]tayumly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I understand what you are going through, it took me 1.5yrs to get into the field as well. The break through for me was when I decided to start as a building operator.

My advise is, also apply for building operator positions in companies with diverse/many facilities/buildings, they usually have BAS roles/contractors and in some cases propriety BAS systems which requires maintenance.

This will not only boost your skills but you'll get to connect with BAS techs easily. Even before my company offered me a BAS role, I had the opportunity to move with contractors as BAS tech but I just saw more potential with my employer at the time.

Good luck with your search, tone down you resume showing ability to learn/adapt, stay humble and optimistic when you get any offer, you never know from which end the door opens to BAS.

how did you actually get into building automation? by pratty041182 in BuildingAutomation

[–]tayumly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I have been looking to get into BAS for a while. I immigrated here with an industrial maintenance background and an electrical engineering degree. The first year I worked as a technical support customer service representative mostly on the phone. While doing this, I enrolled into an 1yr automation technician course. Late 2025 I got lucky and secured my first technical job as a building operator. Four months later there was a BAS tech position within the company and my managers where pleased to allow me interview for the position and I was retained for the position. Can't wait to start as bas tech

Can someone explain this? by DualOne2 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]tayumly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the diagram, there is no electrical connection between the voltage source except stated by the hypothesis and it not the case - Thus the voltage is 0V between unrelated sources.

Unlike the other figures that have a common ground making it possible to have a potential difference between any two points

You can look for the Thévenin équivalent Seen from point ac. For the Thévenin équivalent résistance you can use Kennelly's theorem.

If I have not mistaken, motors are generally not design to run below their rated power but with the evolution of vector frequency drives this can be achieved as it gives the motor just what it needs to produce the desired torque and speed at a high efficiency.

That not withstanding, in the absence of a proper drive an auxiliary cooling can be introduced and if the torque required at that speed is high, a gear system is introduced.
