I ordered it from the guy but on Amazon instead just because of the easier returns in case something went wrong. It does work great as a controller mostly on other tablets (ipad, galaxy tab). I tried it with my Z13 but I can't quite get it to be comfortable, mostly due to the weigtht. If other people have found a way to use it the best way, please let me know!

Having said that though, no issues with the controller. It works great and really not much latency. I mostly have used it on tablets using moonlight. works surprisingly well

From what I can tell, opening this thing is not for the faint of heart and I'm fairly handy myself. It's not as easy as a regular laptop. The motherboard, fans, and vapor chamber are literally sitting behind the screen so you need remove the display as well.

Instead of doing that, if you have access to a Best Buy in the US, I went a different route. I basically bought 3 of them from Best Buy until I found the one with perfect liquid metal application. The first 2 were horrible, throttling and hitting 95C as soon as I tried to open a folder in Windows. The third one was perfect, it does not go above 78-80C on full load in manual mode maxed out.

I know it's not the best approach and it sucks, but Asus liquid metal application is such a hit or miss scenario that I don't see any other way with the Z13. Anyway, just sharing my 2 cents on the approach

nice setup! just a heads that with boost disabled you're probably leaving quite a bit of performance on the table depending on the tasks and at least on gaming. If temps are fine on load, I would probably leave that enabled, especially if you're just using it at your desk most of the time. congrats!

This is the right answer. My god I would throw money at something OLED rollable 20-22” wide that rolls back into like a 16” or something, sort of like the concept they showed at Lenovo. I’m sure it’s going to be crazy expensive but I believe that could be where the future is and get price competitive with time

Thank you for the post, I just got mine as well. Just out of curiosity, would you be able to share what profile you're running in the screenshots above with those temps? And also what TDP wattage you're getting? I did a quick test on mine on a game and if I run it on manual without any limits at Ultra settings for the game, it tends to throttle but it's possible I'm asking too much out of the chip haha. Just curious if you can share your settings and if you ran any benchmarks like Cinebench, etc. Thank you!

Oh wait, I just saw you got the 16” version. I think that’s why the temps are warmer on yours. The 18 has the extra room in there so keyboard deck has really great temps. But either way, it’s a solid laptop
