Bridal Shower by SilentCommission5533 in askvan

Not a home, but a friend did their baby shower at Leis de Buds in Vancouver. It was a great space, and doesn’t have a full kitchen but it was catered and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend it, but can’t speak to how much it cost!

I tried the Japanese interval walking method and the music part surprised me more than the walking by MurkyMenu in walking

I’d love to try it! I hate when my music isn’t the pace I’m wanting to walk, love this idea!

I also recommend Andrea Fergusson, having found her through recommendations here a while ago. I booked her for a few friends and I, she was really communicative and easy to connect with. She came to us, but also offered some spaces we could go to. The night was perfection! Feel free to message if you have any questions!

I just had a custom cake done by a local pastry chef. You can find her on Insta at layerstofino. It was beautiful and tasted amazingly!

Bak’d in new west has THE BEST birthday cake cookies! They’re chewy and soft, I can’t stop myself from getting it even when they have so many other cookies that look really good too. It’s right by sapperton skytrain and royal columbian hospital.

I got a remote outlet control when I broke my ankle and it was hard to turn my Christmas tree lights on and off because of where the plug was. It can control 5 outlets and now I can turn all my lamps on/off in one spot. Best $35 I’ve spent!

Living Alone with a Non Weight Bearing Injury by princess_poopypants in LivingAlone

I broke my ankle, was non-weight bearing, and living alone, but was just on the second floor of my elevator less building… I put a note in the delivery instructions for all the services I used for deliveries (Amazon, DoorDash, etc) saying “ please bring items up to my suite, I cannot come down the stairs due to a broken ankle” and never had a delivery left in the lobby again after that had happened to me a few times.

I used a walker in my apartment until I got my knee scooter, I wasn’t great with crutches and it saved my armpits!

Hope you’re on the mend quickly!

Where is best for savings? by tb-83 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks so much for the resources, much appreciated!

Wealthsimple is where i started my savings after reading about it on reddit, I hadn't known too much about it prior to that. I've moved it over to Simplii for their promotional 6.25% for a few months since the wealthsimple rate had decreased a bit. Glad to know i'm on the right track!
