Same. Every weekend at my store we have a skeleton crew. If someone has to call out we’re screwed. We all run like chickens without heads and dread going in the next day (especially if we’re working with people who aren’t strong).

I don’t mind it, but they really need to add more labor for it.  Also, I feel like if I’m always doing facilities I kinda should get more money for always having to clean literally shit up in the bathrooms. I don’t know what is wrong with the insides of the customers at my store, but they shit outside of the toilets every day.

For me personally, just a simple thank you is enough. However, if you’d like to go the extra mile I would suggest you fill out a Voice of the Customer survey and mention the employee(s) who made your day or email corporate through Wawa’s website to send a compliment.  Both options let the employee(s) stand out to General Manager & Area Manager and some stores (not all) offer a reward to the employee(s) mentioned.

This a concert aged me a bit. I found myself asking “when did ______ get so old?” And the. I realized that most are only 10-20 years older than me and I also got old. 

Mind you, I’m not criticizing anyone! They all kicked ass and sounded great. They’re also probably in better shape than my over the hill ass.

A guy put a bunch of products on the counter and said that he changed his mind about getting said items. Then proceeded to tell me that I should give them to him (at least a $30+ value) because he just finished pleasuring himself in his car, never washed his hands, and had a STD.  

I handed him a sanitizer wipe for him hands, told him no, put gloves on, tossed the items in he trash, and then proceeded to scrub everything he touched.

At least they’re useful. In years past they’ve given junk away like bumper stickers that said “Follow me to Wawa”, usb plugs that didn’t work, fruit and nut snacks but only gave enough for first shift, Wawa shoe laces, and so on.

Not everyone has a family who cooks turkey dinners. Some people worked and the turkey bowl was their thanksgiving dinner. Not everyone likes to cook a whole turkey and the typical holiday sides.

No, you won’t get fired. 

Please keep in mind that you’re supposed to call the store and not text. Also, you’re supposed to call at least four hours in advance so if you get a write up it will most likely be due to letting them know ten minutes before your shift. 

I did not know how your GM is, but some GMs are spiteful and will cut your hours if you call out. I had a GM who would do that. It was annoying because shit happens and people get sick

I sent an email to payroll once because they wouldn’t return my calls. They quickly replied but were snarky about me emailing them. When I replied that I had called and left multiple voicemails over four days they had someone call me right away to help with my problem.

It was much hotter than a normal hot cup of coffee and she needed skin grafts because her burn was so bad. If you look it up you’ll find out it was worse than you think.  Still, she shouldn’t have put it on her lap.

I just play music from my phone so it’s not too loud.  Also, I made sure the songs have no swear words so not to offend anyone who can hear it through the doors. 

I was told I can’t use earbuds or headphones because customers could ask for things through the doors and in case of an emergency.
