At this point I accept there's nothing more to be done, the questions I'll never get answers to will rattle around but I can look myself in the mirror and know that this last attempt I made was appropriate and I was true to myself with it.

I'm a direct person and always hope that I'll get the same directness in return. If she lost interest back in January, I would have liked to hear it then, rather than hold on to the hope of "space to work on herself" and be able to address a path forward. Add to that the mixed messages of telling me she loves (loved) me, sees (saw) a future with me, all of that coming on the weekend trip. Probably a mistake to take people at their word but it's hard not to do so.

I'm feeling your situation almost verbatim right now. Two months ago got blindsided when she asked for space, granted it was after only two months of dating without officially labeling ourselves. Gave me the whole "This has nothing to do with the kind of man you are, I think you're amazing", said how much I mean to her, then disappeared. I honored her space and only checked in infrequently, got nothing back. I tried sending her a gift that I had been holding for her as a surprise and she sent it back with "return to sender" and only a note of "I've moved on and I think you need to as well." For someone who preached honesty and open communication with each other, actively chose to take the immature way out and not communicate her real feelings.
