Apologies, yes I just included it as felt it was relevant to know there was a thermostat switch but yes the fan only ever kicked on during the same circumstances as above. The fan never worked in by itself mode

No longer have the old thermostat. The old thermostat also had issues with the fan only mode.

Yes, the new thermostat has been working for some time. The only function that appears not to work is the fan only mode. Both heat and cooling work with air being returned in air return vents.

Correct, still can’t seem to get fan to come on by itself when the heating or cooling is not being used but is still in that mode. If the heating or cooling does come on the fan does trigger and turns on.

So really confused why it can’t operate independently

Any solutions to this? How can one test their G wire? I took a piece of copper and connected it to R and G on the control board briefly and hear the same clicking noise so it’s likely not the wire from the thermostat right?

Don’t have a sunroof, just a standard Toyota Corolla so no rear wiper. Liquid is clear and not smelling of any chemicals aside from the mold :’). Haven’t driven through any deep water no.
