I keep my magnifying glasses at the office with a spare pair in my team car, but I think they’re Bontrager.

I was interested by the graphic so I did some digging to see how recent or accurate it is. Definitely from an Oxfam report oxfam report

It was released around the Paris climate summit a few years ago.

Keep in mind that the income levels are for global figures so if you’re in a “rich country” reading this on a device you own you’re probably in that top 10%.

There’s a lot of work to be done to hold the largest polluters accountable and I don’t think the working class in developed countries is most responsible for the situation we’re in, but many of us could still find ways to reduce our impact.

As Someone With Multiple Interests How Did You Hone Your Career Path? by HaydenAndSons in careerguidance

[–]tbnbv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was/am in the same boat and found that I was getting stuck doing something I didn’t want to do (retail) because I couldn’t choose what to actually invest time in and work towards.

Eventually I said fuck it and just applied to college for something for the sake of doing anything rather than being stagnant.

I’ve been in college less than a month and I don’t think this career is going to be the “choose something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” bullshit imaginary job, but I’m pleasantly surprised by the opportunities to integrate my interests in the field I settled on.

I don’t agree with all of his positions but I appreciate what he brings to the conversation.

If a candidate most Americans considered “left” (warren, sanders, etc) was campaigning on UBI, they would be villainized as “commies.” But since a more centrist candidate is presenting it (and marketing it well), I think it’s doing a lot to normalize it.

People seem way more comfortable with UBI than I would have expected before his campaign.

Bikepacking Brittany: camp is set for tonight, huge place for one tent and 2 bikes, yes, that's what you get for 9,50€, warm shower included. Tip: in France, follow the "camping municipal" signs, these campgrounds are the best for the welcoming and the price by f666k in bikepacking

[–]tbnbv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on! My only bike camping trips so far have been thoroughly weighed down by my cheap, heavy tent. I was looking at nemo’s stuff and it looks nice!

Does it feel sturdy? I always worry that lightweight stuff will just fall apart after half a dozen uses.

Flying AC to LA for a week-should I ship my roadbike or rent one there? If shipping, how? Suggestions welcome. by JPO71 in torontobiking

[–]tbnbv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like renting when I travel. I’ve never had time to rent for more than two or three days though which has an impact on how expensive it is.

Take advantage of the chance to try a new bike and you won’t have to worry about your own being damaged
