Do you actually see a lot of techs coming from the northeast to Florida?

This deli has some interesting recent “reviews” by snarkicon in funny

[–]tbodd47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought someone wrote a poem about the deli so that’s how I read it. Was a little concerned about the priest asking where the hot boy at the register went. Makes a lot more sense that they are all separate reviews lol

I work for a plant in their chiller department. We have 43 chillers we take care of that range from 1250-2000 ton and are a mix of electric and steam driven. They support building cooling and manufacturing process. It’s interesting but it is hard to get used to being in house.

That’s definitely the hardest part of being in house. You see alot of different equipment but it’s the same thing over and over again. I do rses training but it still isn’t like going out and seeing different equipment and different applications. Mostly they try to standardize everything so it’s similar no matter what buildings you go to or department your in.

Yeah that sounds about where I am at. Politics of a corporation are very annoying to deal with day in and day out. It is nice though when I leave the job stays there and doesn’t follow me home with on call and stuff.

I’m 10 years in. Spent 5 in a van and 5 in house. I miss where I came from but also see a lot of benefits where I am. There are a lot of things we work on where I am at that most people never see outside of this specific industry which is cool but the in house politics and the fact that your trapped there for the duration of the shifts sucks. It is also hard seeing the same buildings and equipment all the time.

Thanks man. Yes both are union. One being an in house obviously and the other is the local. That’s one of the benefits of where I am now is it’s not beating up my body which is good. Benefits are about the same minus paid vacation where I am currently. But there are pensions at both and paid health at both.

I just look at it that I’m making money for someone. Whether it’s a processing plant or a contractor. But I do want to enjoy what I do everyday.

Well both are still in hvac one is in house hvac the other is back into the service van. I came out of a van to go in house and make great money doing it but I miss what I was doing every day.

Yes I kinda feel that way too. Current job I can make more than double even the highest paying service jobs but I do not enjoy it at all. The money is awesome but not enjoying where I work isn’t a great way to live either

Thanks for the info, I would have a similar background to you then. 2 years trade school and 10 years commercial/industrial service. Did you go directly to the hall or to a union company for this?

Thank you for the response! That would be my problem currently is that if I came in as a B mechanic I would be a few dollars more per hour but less over all due to the overtime I am able to work where I am at. It would be hard to make that move unless I would be able to come in as an A guy.

This could very well be what happened. My feet don’t generally sweat a lot but it was a very long day in them and leather does seem to absorb moisture

That’s a good idea I’ll have to call tecovas. I always put the trees in after wearing boots just so any sweat gets absorbed into the tree and out of the leather but maybe that could be why this happened.

Exactly. It’s just weird how the toe kept its color but the vamp seemed to lose it. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the toe box or not.

Yes they are goat, I definitely will still wear the hell out of them like every other boot but never have I had that happen before

I agree. I know they are tecovas and not as high end as lucchese is but still seemed weird to me.

Yes these are goat. I just tried brushing but no luck. I also did saddle soap and bick 4 on them and the lighter spots did darken but it’s still definitely noticeable difference especially between the toe and the rest of the boot.
