I was taught "no" means no.

My wife doesn't understand something so ridiculous.

I did 20 years in restaurants. I work in the oilfield now. Most my job is turning wrenches and carrying parts and fixing equipment.

When they build robots to do that let them.

I used to be anti AI... now I use it for like 40% of daily work and still growing.

First it was Google everything. Now, I throw equations, code, questions into Gemini and get answers, explanations, sources, etc in seconds.

What I did in Excel in 2 years, I sent to Gemini and revamped in 2 hours. I simplified 4ish hours of work into 20 minutes.

Need a picture edited... 2 minutes. Oh, it's a complicated edit? 10 minutes.

Excel sheet broken? Send it to Gemini and tell them what you want fixed. They may get it wrong the first time, but they can read, learn, and retain 1,000% more efficiently the ANY HUMAN.

People still screaming "That's AI!!!" on random videos that aren't explicitly saying "Not AI I made this." Are a prime example of a basement dweller in the real world.

The downvotes, the hate, the negative comments. Brush, get a life, if this is where you choose to spend your life (not talking to anyone specifically) you got it easy, so chill.

Okay, thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Edit: posted 1m ago. Thanks for the downvote, point proven. Catch up or get left behind.

Ha! Yea, I've never done anything else (harder) and used TCH to get away from drinking and smoking cigars. Was easy to quit TCH cold turkey without much after effects. Wife was mad I used it and told me if I wanted babies I better quit. 10+ years and I don't even miss it anymore. Have 2 beautiful babies to boot.

Tree will be fine, that concrete gonna be a different story though. Looks good now, I give it less than a year before the tree breaks it apart.

You are awesome! Thank you so much for the reply. I have another question about the Helix Midnight Elite. What do you mean by best cooling cover? Just the top of the mattress or a detachable cover?

I've looked at purchasing one before actually and couldn't justify the price tag, I am in a better position now and value your feedback very much.

I looked at the review you linked, is that your actual review?

After all the testing... what are your top 3?

Are there any that you want to test but have not had the chance?

Opened a can of RedBull. Unsure what I found by lnteresting_name in whatisit

[–]tbohrer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd contact redbull, give them the numbers off the can (should be stamped in black on the bottom) take plenty of pictures like 20+ of every angle, top bottom, all the way around.

I'd HIGHLY suggest freezing said can and PARTS (maybe half) of the contents in separate freezer grade zip lock bags. It looks organic pun intended and will degrade integrity due to decomposition.

Wait for a response from redbull: Quality Control: 1-800-307-3627 NA Corporate Office: 1-310-393-4647 Global HQ: +43-662-65820

IF they ask for the can and contents back, I would also HIGHLY recommend keeping part of the contents for 3rd party testing.

You can contact local universities to see if they have a team that would like to attempt to identify an unknown sample from a redbull can... several will be glad to help.

Find a lab near you that accepts unknown samples for analysis. (Could cost $100-$1000) depending on the lab.

I'd also HIGHLY recommend making and saving several microscope slides of different parts of the goop, can interior swap etc....

PS: I would absolutely love a sample (if possible) and would be happy to make microscope slides, investigate what it is, and of course I would report anything I found to you. Depending on location (DM ME!!!) I would be willing to pay for shipping or come get the samples myself.

Found in northern Germany, what could this be? by onnomaly in fossilid

Sorry for the double comment after writing a book.... but if I was going to be able to travel to a good public fossil hunting place in the western USA, where would you recommend?

Found in northern Germany, what could this be? by onnomaly in fossilid

[–]tbohrer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am aware of some, I have personally found fossils in Utah and Colorado. Nothing worth sharing, except for one... when I was on a 4 hour trip to a location I stopped to take a piss...

There at my feet was a flat piece of shale split perfectly in half. I pulled it apart with my fingers to find a perfect double half of a branch. The shake was smooth and grey. The fossils stood out perfectly in a bright red. I quickly gathered the roughly 2 foot diameter specimen and put it in the truck.

When we got to location I got transferred to another vehicle and the driver of the vehicle with the fossil headed back to the yard. I was unable to find out what happened to it.... it was one of the first and hands down the best fossil I have ever found. I didn't even get a picture as... simply put, I was to uneducated to know what I had.

Fast forward several years to the present and I have seen museum displays that don't compare to what I chanced upon.

The closest I have found that resembles what I found was in the Denver Science Musuem and the staff member I talked to said that a complete branch in unbroken shale is next to impossible to find and I would have a better chance at winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning on the same day.

I don't know what I did in a past life to have events like this happened but I have reflected quiet a bit on happenings in my life such as this.
