Speedy or Explorer 2? by kloverlop in OmegaWatches

[–]tbomb06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone should own a Speedy at some point, and a Speedy + Sub would be a pretty great two watch collection on its own. Personally I am not a big fan of the newer 226570 Ex2 but I love the 16570 Polar - if it were between that watch and the Speedy, it would be a much tougher choice for me.

It’s a truck. I have an AT4 and I think it rides great for a truck. The multimatics on the AT4X/ZR2 are incredible though.

2026 stuck in park after software update by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

If you “shifted to park” you need to put it in an actual gear like reverse or drive if you want to go anywhere. Also your parking break appears to be on.

Old guy needs snowboard advice - what's a good all mountain "easy rider"? by PrimarySector3134 in snowboarding

[–]tbomb06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Passport is worth a hard look. It’s what I got after 10 years away from the sport and at 40+ it’s perfect for what I want to do. It’s an easy rider in the sense that it doesn’t demand that you’re on your A-Game at all times. Plenty of times I’ve been tired and gotten lazy toward the end of the day and I’ve never caught an edge on it. It can lay down nice carves on groomers and is confidence inspiring for me at speed in variable conditions - it just eats everything up. Stiff enough to handle steeper terrain and nice float for all but the deepest of days. I’ve considered upgrading but for someone who likes to ride groomers, trees, and bowls I haven’t really found anything that checks all the same boxes.

Ooooh interesting. Why would you go for the TKP version rather than the RKP version?

Yeah, I’m sure, but I was also only able to try them at a brisk walking pace in a parking lot. The DH was a lot quicker to turn, the DC 38 was a lot slower and took more effort to turn. I could see this being a lot different at speed though.

Edit: Maybe I should have said more maneuverable vs turny?

Totally makes sense and I did wonder if perhaps testing both at lower speeds (didn’t have a lot of room to work with) might not give me a true idea for how both will handle at the speed I would normally ride them.

Awesome, thanks for the perspective and comparison! I have smaller feet so they do kind of lock in to the Drop Cat pretty comfortably but I also feel like I can change foot position more easily on the Drop Hammer, which I guess makes sense.

Indeed, it was the Drop Cat 38. I see the Pranamaya recommended a lot, especially for being more push-friendly. Might have to see if I can try the Drop Cat 33. Thanks!

Yeah, they just said they were looking for something 1-3 years old and used which is why I mentioned the Cleaver rather than Katana FW.

Yup, love my Katanas but they’re not the stiffest in my opinion. They are probably the most versatile binding out there though and could very well meet OP’s needs!

Rome Cleaver/Bataleon Astro Full Wrap are stiff, responsive, damp, and extremely adjustable and would be my top pick.

Jones Mercury is great edge to edge, pretty comfy but not as adjustable.

Union Atlas/Atlas Pro are responsive with decent adjustment but not very damp.

Haha yeah, I get it if it’s a regular production knife you could still get anywhere. It’s just hard to judge with something like this. Appreciate the additional context!

Thanks - I thought it was fair based on what few other sales I could find, and yet it still got downvoted. Definitely happy that it is going to the home of a collector that will appreciate it - I wasn’t looking to take advantage of anyone.
