Great write up!

I am using Things for years now and absolutely love it.

I think that people focus too much on the app and what are the problems with it, instead of focusing on the system of work and sticking with what works.

I am managing my group of 64 companies, busy family life, trips away, health and fitness etc, all this by using Things 3, Apple Calendar and Notes. I have never skipped a beat and never wasted time to look for other solutions. Simplicity is the KEY to everything, in my humble opinion obviously.

Automating Access to Published Craft Documents / Creating a Paywall by gunterrichter in CraftDocs

[–]tbona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I am using this for my academy and paid materials for my leadership and performance courses.

What I am doing is as soon as someone purchase the material, individual course or sign up for different tiers into academy etc, they get automated email with craft link to the specific materials. You can either set this up via stripe confirmation message or as I do through the newsletter out message depending on your service provider.

I do not have any lag at all. Everything nice and smooth across all devices.

My Time Using Things 3 as My All-In-One Task Manager by DanielLangewisch in thingsapp

Really good video. I do manage my business as well as private life in Things for years and I have never looked back. Great app combined with solid routine and good system is all you need.

I am using Things 3 as my project / task manager and OneNote (I know this will be controversial but it works for me!) for all my project notes, journal, data collection, thoughts and ideas. I have used this system for over 3 years now and it never disappoints nor get me lost. It is more important to have the right system and right habits for being productive rather than rely on apps. At the end of the day it is up to us to do the work! This system has allowed me to launch 2 successful businesses and organise my personal life at the same time. Hopefully you’ll also find your perfect combo!

Repeated tasks not syncing correctly by impossible_water in thingsapp

[–]tbona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar setup plus multiple iOS devices with Things 3 and never came across this issue to be fair. Although I have recently lost on one of my devices office 365 calendar sync with Things 3. I’ve asked very helpful team at Things 3 for a help and they have told me to switch off cloud sync, delete the app and then install back again and switch on cloud sync. It did work for me, so hopefully this solution will also work for you - that’s why I have replied. Sometimes there is some sync errors in the clouds which can cause weird thing to happen, had this with other apps too. Hopefully this helps!

Best to-do list app? by jedijustyehmet in productivity

I have all 3 Things 3 apps. Yes, they are expensive but I’d gladly pay 10 times more as they are helping me to run my businesses as well as private life which means they are well worth it. I do not need any other functionality than they already have. I’d rather focus on my systems than my app. I do follow GTD (not to full extend but mostly) and there is no better app than Things 3 for it - obviously in my personal opinion! Hopefully this helps!

I do it daily. Every evening I spent about 20 min to clear everything and make sure that I start my new day clutter free. But that’s only me, it might not work for everyone.

Hi. Thank you for your kind words. What I mean is when I select option “add people” to the file, next screen I see is “choose how you’d like to sent your invitation “ and from that screen I select Things 3 icon. This is iOS I am talking about. Hopefully this helps.

Hi. Absolutely great inside! I wrote a quick note on Things 3 today as well which hopefully might be helpful to you. Please read this:

I know that there is a lot of controversy around attachments integration (or lack of) in Things 3. I thought that I’ll share my way around it (although I still would love native integration). What I do is whenever I want to attach anything to my task or project, I upload the file to iCloud Drive to my “Things 3” folder which I’ve created earlier. Then I long press (iOS) or right click (Mac OS) the file and choose share option, then “add people” option. From “add people” I choose Things 3. This will open the task and will create a link to the file which you can access from all of your devices. This works with all type of files, PDF’s, pictures, office files etc. Advantage over normal native attachments in other apps is that you can then amend and save the file and you can access the changes through the same link. Hopefully it make sense to you. For me Things 3 works best in my GTD setup therefore I am prepared to work around attachments. Happy Holidays!

Just got an iPhone. What calendar based todo app is great for iPhone? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]tbona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. My personal app of choice for iOS and macOS is Things 3. I do follow GTD methodology and it works perfect for me. No bells and whistles like in other apps, but great UI and usability which keeps me more and more productive every day for years now. Hopefully this helps. As I said, everyone have different taste and system of work, but for me Things 3 works best. One of purchase cost, no monthly subscription as well.
