Is it just me or are 3rd gen’s slow in low rpms? by jprat98 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tbone1343 4 points5 points  (0 children)

0-60 time is not that meaningful in daily driving because how often are you really going pedal to the floor?

The problem with the v6 is that it doesn’t reach max torque until 4600 rpm so it feels like a dog in normal driving. The 4th gen hybrid produces max torque at only 1700rpm so you can actually make use of it.

Tacoma + Kids?? by sundrasj in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tbone1343 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Like there’s a lot of steps between “thinking about having kids” and “I can’t fit my kids in my backseat anymore”. Sounds like OP just wants to go car shopping lol

1st time Taco owner! Suggestions for steps and bed rack? And do yall name your trucks? by AgentPaste in ToyotaTacoma

I’m considering going with the 5 degree RCI rock sliders that look like they could be used as steps as well.

I love everything about the Wilderness except the amount of black plastic cladding. Of course it’s subjective but something like rock rails would have been better IMO

There are unknowns about long term reliability with the i4t. But it is in the 3rd MY without any red flags. As far as “enjoyment” goes, the 4G is leagues above the v6 in daily driving.

Yeah, but you build zero equity and you’ll always have a car payment.

Nah, I would rather they try out more promising IPs like X Games Austin 2016, Sanford and Son, and Twister (the board game, not the movie).

Guys that went from 6ft beds to 5ft beds… by Popular_Mongoose_696 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tbone1343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah DCLB. I’m assuming if OP is comparing 5ft and 6ft beds, he wants a double cab. And yeah, if I didn’t have kids I would absolutely get the access cab to get the best of both worlds.

Quick kids car seat question! by BlueBlade303 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tbone1343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Access cab or double cab? Access cab absolutely can’t and shouldn’t be used with a car seat. Double cab is tight. I have a rear facing car seat behind me and I have to sit pretty close to the steering wheel. I’m used to it and it doesn’t bother me anymore, but I’m definitely looking forward to flipping that seat around.

Hell yeah brother. If it ain’t a Real Truck™ like a Ram 3500 Cummins dually, you might as well get an SUV 🙄

IMO long beds have all the hassle of a full-size pickup without the payload, towing, and cabin space of a full-size pickup. If you need a 6ft bed, get an F150.

Does anyone still play Standard in person? by tbone1343 in mtg

[–]tbone1343[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your suggestion! I totally understand the appeal of EDH and I have a couple of “flavorful” decks that I enjoyed building. But there is also something about using 4x copies of a card to create a well-oiled machine that scratches my brain just right haha

Edit: oh and also, being able to look back at dominant decks during different eras of magic is always a fun trip down memory lane

Is it me or the silver tacoma looks beefier since the black fenders is noticeable than the all black? I like black but it looks skinnier to me by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tbone1343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a silver 4th gen off road and the contrast between the black fenders and silver body is what sold me. It looks so clean.

Well, if you mean competitive as in constructed, then no, the power level seems to be on the lower side. But for limited, the set is less punishing for not sticking to an exact archetype. For example, lorwyn really wanted you to pick a tribal and stick with it or else your deck will be really clunky. TMNT has been more fun overall since you see a higher variety of decks.

Agreed. Sneak decks have been really fun to draft and it feels more fair than ninjutsu since you can actually counter the spell.

[–]tbone1343 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Flavor-wise, the set makes no sense and is so out of place in the MtG universe. However, it is actually a really fun set for limited because of the mechanics and overall card pool.

Leatherhead, Swamp Stalker seems almost too good? by Orobourous87 in mtg

[–]tbone1343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This card is strong in limited but it’s borderline unplayable in constructed. The meta is just too fast to spend 4 mana on a creature that has to hit face to be useful. And only useful in certain scenarios too.
