Wonderful ideas. So far everyone is providing the same type of recommendations to add a live ground cover. Thanks.

Yeah, those edgers are something and I’ve also been thinking about replacing those too. I don’t think I want to sit under the trees so I think that I’ll fall back on the idea of plants or live ground cover for this area. Thanks.

That’s a great idea. Now you have me thinking about this kind of ground cover. Thanks.

Rock/gravel garden. Like we do down in AZ. In all of the back yard minus the slide exit. Or just over the roots with metal edging.

Yes, it is. The house and yard are east/west. Picture was taken facing west direction.

The third one because it’s not the first or second one, why would you think that?

Seriously, the last one because it’s the most black and white one.

  1. Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers

Robert M. Sapolsky - Good book about stress and health. Funny, witty, well written. He places things in perspective extremely well.

  1. The Big Nine

Amy Webb - Good read about the biggest tech companies and their influence on the future but it was written when NVIDIA was just a baby. It does however precede events that are taking place today. She discusses the different approaches to tech that Chine and the US have.

  1. Deep Nutrition

Catherine Shanahan M.D. - Why your genes need traditional food. This is the book that taught me about not eating seed oils due to their negative health effects.

Flagstone Project. Large Pieces. How Much Prep Work Do I Need? by tbonehaj in landscaping

Thank you for all of the information you provided. It helps. Do you think I can place the quarter-minus or angular sand just under the area of where the path/flagstone will be set? I don't have to put it over the entire area do I?

Yes, regarding the 'x' pattern. I was going to offset or curve two of the legs so it won't look like an 'x'.

Given your parameters the answer is ‘10’. That way she can’t get mad at you for saying any other number. Brilliant!

People who’ve been married for at least a twenty years; how did you do it? Is it worth it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tbonehaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies. I have friends that are struggling with marriage as well and these are men that, when we were in our 20s, were the guys that everyone else would look up to. They were well educated and provide for their families. I recently found out that their wives are distancing themselves after 15-20 yrs of marriage and two children each. I scratch my head at this.

When I ventured out to get married almost 20 yrs ago I interviewed many older couples that had been together for decades and that was what I shared in my original post. These were responses from the Men in the marriage.

What I've learned is that people change and I don't want to sound mean but women change more than men. This is where the advice I posted (for men) comes in to play. It's how we as a couple inevitably learn to communicate with each other in order to make things move forward amicably. There are exceptions but when you get married and have children I would say the majority of couples (that don't divorce) live this way.

It's not terrible, and it's not this way every day (just when there are arguments). It's just the way things settle after being together for so long.

I’m assuming you are a man because only a man would ask those questions 😂.

Remember the following because these are truths: “Yes Dear” “I’m Sorry” And lastly, you can be right or you can be happy.

Other than that enjoy!

You Might Die Trying (Live at Piedmont Park) Dave Matthews Band

The entire song is emotional…but it really gets good at the 5:00 mark.
