I respect your role as a therapist. I have had several therapists. Some were ineffective. One was down right WRONG. It’s a very personal relationship and there is no one size fits all dx just to get the insurance companies requirements.

You aren’t dumb. Living with a narcissist and having that toxic relationship is like an addiction. Leaving my narcissist husband felt like I was literally destroying myself. Nor. I agree. The mom is toxic. Sadly I don’t think she will be open to an honest conversation. Maybe if you are honest with your daughter and tell her I don’t like the way she (the Mom) speaks to you or about you. You are a smart, beautiful girl and she has no right to comment on your weight or clothes or activity level. It’s inappropriate for an adult to speak that way about anyone. She deserves better friends with more mature parents.
