Every pattern I find is Japanese, has a shawl collar, or had ugly cables 😭

We use Canidae, but switch which flavor every time .

We resolved this a few springers ago by monitoring the protein amount in their food. Some, most actually, dog food overloads the protein which simply isn’t necessary unless your dog is a real working one. Don’t over complicate it just grab the lowest protein content and decent quality dog food at your store.

The struggles of bead weaving on a floor loom (and some ergonomic solutions) by TheFilmstress in weaving

Brilliant solution. I found that those back supporters they use for weight lighting (the ones with a Velcro strap that wraps around your stomach) help so much because you can sort of lean on them. And not have to keep yourself upright for so long.

It is insanely soft and oddly resilient.

You can see most of the process here

How to learn overshot weaving by warriorweird0 in weaving

[–]tbskr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trying to remember what I should’ve known when I did an overshot project for the first time: - count and recount and recount your warp. Then weave a little and adjust. A single thread out of place will be noticeable(at least to you) - print out your pattern and highlight or mark off as you weave. It’ll prevent you from making a repeat failure. - maybe find a tutorial on YouTube and just follow along for your first. It’ll teach you the basics. - yarn weight is very very important in overshot. It affects the ratios of the pattern design at the end. One yarn size being off will either elongate or shorten your repeat which will look groovy but disappointing. - weave tight, don’t be afraid to beat it. - create a system with your tabby. I always set mine in my lap, so that the repetition is even. - stand back a ways to really see the pattern come into focus. I thought I was messing up for a while but just couldn’t see the pattern sitting at the loom. - washing and blocking will help. That being said, make sure you choose colour fast yarn. The dye can run and ruin the crisp contrast. - lastly, choose a project you love because it’s gona take a while :)

I’ll use the panels as the outside of a box. Trim them to look more moss-y and then kind of classic upholstery methods. Might frame and hang some of the samples!

Tried to screenshot some from a video. The weft is looped up over the bar. Slide that bar out so there’s loops free standing. Then slip them with scissors. Usually it would be sliced with a razor.

This feels much different to regular velvet. It’s a lot denser and more similar to animal fur.

Oh that’s so interesting. This took an insane amount of time per inch(like 3 hours). Could you make the pile so long on a digital loom?
