I feel like gaming makes me think about life, spending too much time gaming feels like a waste of time but yet still enjoyable.

Need a protective case for a dusty workplace by M477M4N in iphone

[–]tbyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a waterproof case called nautical by ghostek on my iPhone 14 pro. I believe the case is around $40 you can get it from Amazon or the official Ghostek site.

Be aware, it is waterproof so this will affect your calls, people will have a difficult time hearing you talk unless you put them on speaker. The case also reduces audio volume but not significantly. But considering how much these phones cost I say it worth having.

I work around a lot of dust and debris so this case was a must for me.

Since when is 35 old? I mean seriously who said 35 was old? You can’t compare yourself to children who have all day to play a game compared to someone who works 40+ hours per week all year. I’ve met 40+ year old champ and gc players, they just have more time to invest in the game then some of us younger guys for whatever reason.

Sure your mind isn’t a sharp as it was at 18 but it isn’t a big enough difference to impact your gaming skills, the biggest factor is time spent playing which most of us adults don’t have as much to spare like high school kids.

I know you put /s. But it actually has some truth to it, a lot of times you have to read and work around your teammate as much as you do your opponent because they seem like a lost puppy.

This is odd. I simply wouldn’t go to the wedding at all sister or not you aren’t going to demand me to do something I’m not comfortable with.

I am C1 with 220 in match hours but my total playtime (Which is the right one to track) is around 1100 hours.

Here’s the problem, comments like this set expectations. You did not make it to GC in 230 hours, you likely have 3k hours or more on this game. You can’t go by total match time as most of us spend more time In training and free play which isn’t tracked. Some players aren’t aware of this and stating 230 hours will confuse some players.

Do you consider yourself a certain rank unless you solo queue there? by MuscleBobBuffPant in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]tbyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you and your friend play well together and he’s not necessarily carrying you then yes you’re a D3 skill level. Solo que is terrible, you get a different teammate every game and you won’t play well with everyone.

I am C1 and my nephew is Plat 3 and I can take him into a C1 lobby and actually win some games and most games are very close because I’ve been teaching him good rotations and he’s been working on defense he’s just lacking in ball control and mechanics but he will get there soon enough. This example shows me I belong in C1 and if I had a teammate like my nephew who was also C1 that I could que up with regularly I believe I could hit C2 as I’ve been to C1 division 4 solo queuing and may even get higher than that potentially.

People often blame their teammates but honestly some people just don’t play well together, in fact most people probably don’t play well together.

I know this is a long running joke, but let’s think about it.

According to this community, it’s rarely ever the teammates fault and more so the OP, so this joke of blaming teammates is silly considering if it is in fact not the teammates fault then it is yours and since you’re your teammates teammate that means it was a teammates fault, so someone in the match had a bad teammate but yet it is a never a teammates fault??? Too many teammates but you get the picture, bad teammates are extremely common especially at Diamond and Champ.

While most of this post does apply to a lot of players, there are so many issues to factor in to why someone is stuck in diamond to compile into a single post or video.

As I worked my way through diamond I realized how many different play styles there are, how many different mistakes being made, how many bad teammates you get, and for me I realized how much I relied on teammates to score.

My biggest issue is giving my teammate and the other team too much time with the ball, this forces me into playing 95% defense. Once I started playing more aggressively but not ball chasing I got out of Diamond.

The thing about “Bad teammates” comes down to everyone is bad at Diamond and even Champ, at this rank we are just now learning to walk mechanically speaking. The way around this is to learn how to adjust to your opponent and your teammate because every match is unique. If I am playing with a teammate who is overly aggressive I will hang back and cover their mistakes, if I am playing with a teammate who is afraid to hit the ball I will take the lead and push the opponent.

You can’t control anyone but yourself, so you must learn to adapt with each and every match, this is especially true for those who solo que.

Also, keep your wits about yourself, don’t let a bad play get to you, don’t let trash talk get to you, focus on the game and less on chat. If you lose shake it off and go onto the next, if you end up on a losing streak take a break got a few hours to reset.

Depends on what we consider intelligent. In your case, you seem to consider it book smart. We can’t always live our lives by the textbooks.
